The November international break is now over and attention turns back to Newcastle United’s Premier League campaign.

Newcastle United won three games on the bounce in the lead-up to the international break and Eddie Howe will hope that it will not slow down momentum.

There were 10 Newcastle players called up to international duty in November including a first England call up for Lewis Hall after his impressive form.

Most of Newcastle’s international stars enjoyed a successful two weeks away with their national squad, but there was one loser who may have had his confidence knocked.

Let’s start with the six winners

Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall & Anthony Gordon

Newcastle had three players called up by Lee Carsley for the final England squad of 2025.

Tino Livramento was called up late after a handful of injury withdrawals, and unlike in October, he was given his first minutes with the Three Lions.

In fact, Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall and Anthony Gordon all started together in England’s 5-0 win over Ireland on Sunday afternoon.

Gordon scored his first England goal in the emphatic victory and the Newcastle star performed a wholesome celebration.

Newcastle legend Alan Shearer praised Newcastle’s English trio for their impressive performances over the break. They should return to Tyneside full of confidence.

Sandro Tonali

It was a memorable week for Sandro Tonali as he scored his first goal for Italy in a 1-0 win over Belgium on Thursday evening.

Italian media criticised Tonali for his display against France a few days later, but stats show that Tonali performed well.

He played the full 180 minutes which should have him match sharp ready for Newcastle’s clash against West Ham on Monday.

Miguel Almiron

According to his agent, Miguel Almiron is unhappy at Newcastle regarding his lack of game time this season.

He certainly had a big smile on his face with Paraguay this week after starring in their games against Argentina and Bolivia.

Almiron scored against Bolivia and was heavily praised by Paraguayan media as one of the best players on the pitch. He will be fighting for a starting spot at St James’ Park on his return.

Alexander Isak

The slow start to the season is well and truly behind him now. Alexander Isak scored three goals in three matches in the lead-up to the break and he has continued his superb form with Sweden.

Despite Isak’s chaotic start to the international break, he continued his scoring streak against Slovakia.

VAR bizarrely denied Isak a goal against Azerbaijan on Tuesday evening with his strike ruled out for offside despite footage showing otherwise.

Now for the biggest loser from the international break…

Bruno Guimaraes

It was not a successful two weeks for Brazil or Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes.

He started in both of Brazil’s games against Venezuela and Uruguay but Guimaraes was far from his best and both ended in 1-1 draws.

Guimaraes and Brazil were booed off by fans after the draw to Uruguay in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
