Newcastle United’s academy has produced an array of big-name players over the years. But who are their current group of Under-21 prospects attempting to follow Sean Longstaff into the senior team?
Longstaff is among four products of the Toon’s academy in Newcastle’s first-team squad during the 2022/23 campaign. Manager Eddie Howe can also call on fellow Magpies graduates Elliot Anderson, Matty Longstaff and Paul Dummett. The latter has also amassed more than 200 senior appearances.
The St James’ Park natives’ present group of young hopefuls play in the Premier League 2 Division 2. Ben Dawson assumed the role of lead coach in January 2023 to replace Elliot Dickman in charge. The Magpies’ junior team also play their home matches at the youth side’s Little Benton training ground.
