It’s transfer deadline day and it looks set to be just as unexciting as the rest of the January window for Newcastle United.
The January transfer window gives clubs the chance to add to their squad in the middle of the season but Newcastle United have only used it to trim theirs.
Fan favourite Miguel Almiron has been the biggest departure so far after sealing a £10m transfer back to Atlanta United.
There have also been several loan exits, with Isaac Hayden’s move to Portsmouth and promising defender Alex Murphy’s switch to Bolton Wanderers the most notable moves.
That’s been about it. With Eddie Howe happy to approach the rest of the season with what is at his disposal, there hasn’t even been the sniff of a signing this month.
There could be more business done on deadline day but, again, it looks likely to be exits from St. James’ Park rather than arrivals.
Kieran Trippier

Veteran defender Kieran Trippier is no longer a regular starter at St James’ Park. He has spent most of the season playing second fiddle to Tino Livramento, who has replaced him as Eddie Howe’s first choice right-back.
The 34-year-old almost left St James’ Park during the summer, only for Howe to opt against selling Trippier.
His future is up in the air again, with Galatasaray interested in Trippier. They believe they can strike a deal, while Trippier wants to make the move.
He is one to watch on transfer deadline day.
Matt Targett

The future of Matt Targett is uncertain and a late exit is not off the cards.
The defender spent the first part of the season injured and has found himself firmly second choice behind Lewis Hall at left-back.
Subsequently, Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Newcastle are happy to let Targett leave on loan this month.
Leeds United have been heavily linked, though contrasting reports claim the Championship club will not be making a bid to sign him.
Lloyd Kelly

It’s not been a dream start to life at Newcastle for defender Lloyd Kelly following his free transfer from Bournemouth in the summer.
The centre-back is another to have found several names ahead of him for a place in the side, with Dan Burn, Fabian Schar and the only recently fit Sven Botman all favoured over him.
With such limited minutes, clubs have sensed an opportunity and Kelly has been linked with a move all January.
Fenerbahce bid for Kelly earlier in the window while Juventus have also been sniffing around him.
Now Juventus have agreed to sign Kelly, with the Serie A side swooping in to agree a loan deal with an obligation to buy. This deal looks set to be finalised on transfer deadline day.
