Newcastle United almost allowed William Osula to leave the club on deadline day, and interest in his signature is still rife.
Strikers dominated the end of Newcastle United’s summer transfer window.
Nick Woltemade arrived from Stuttgart, while Yoane Wissa finally completed his move from Brentford to St James’ Park.
Alexander Isak moved on to Liverpool, but fellow forward William Osula stayed at Newcastle after seeing a move away collapse.

Eintracht Frankfurt still chasing Newcastle United’s William Osula
Aston Villa moved to sign Osula on deadline day, but Eintracht Frankfurt teed up a £30million deal for the Danish forward.
Eintracht missed out on Osula late in the day, though, and the striker was offered to Ajax according to De Telegraaf’s Mike Verweij.
No move to the Netherlands materialised either, leaving Osula to try and impress Eddie Howe at Newcastle.
Osula impressed against Bradford City in the Carabao Cup and found the net against Liverpool in the Premier League, so he has taken his chance in the early weeks of this season.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are still keen to sign Osula in January.
Plettenberg claims that Eintracht remain in contact with Osula’s agents over a potential switch in the winter transfer window.
The Bundesliga side are keen to strike a loan deal in January, but Newcastle surely won’t accept that kind of proposal after having £30million on the table.
William Osula could now stay at Newcastle United
We can understand why Newcastle considered a £30million sale.
Osula has plenty of pace and power, but he is still a raw striker who is learning his trade at the highest level.
Cashing in for £30million – especially after spending £10million rising to £15million on Osula – would allow some flexibility in the transfer market, but a deal now looks a little trickier.
Yoane Wissa is struggling with injury problems, and his latest setback means Newcastle may need to keep attacking options around come January, just in case the problems continue.
Newcastle already believe that Osula’s stay is a positive, with the 22-year-old possessing major potential for the future.
A loan deal in January certainly doesn’t make sense for Newcastle, and if Frankfurt want Osula, they will need to come with a significant cash offer.
