Newcastle United players have been in action over the international break.
Nine Magpies stars packed their bags to go and feature for their international sides for some friendly games, which may have been a welcomed change to the situation around St James’ Park at the moment which is all looking a bit doom and gloom.
Amid new manager speculation and worry ahead of the summer transfer window, it was nice for Newcastle fans to take the spotlight off their club for a short while.
That included watching some players thrive, and other players sink for their country on international duty. Here’s how they got on. All ratings are taken from FOTMOB.
Anthony Gordon – England

England 0 – 1 Brazil (Saturday, March 23): Anthony Gordon started from the off against Brazil and made his Three Lions debut. He played 75 minutes and got a 6.8 rating.
England 2 – 2 Belgium (Tuesday, March 26): Gordon also came off the bench against the Belgian Red Devils, but had little impact. He played 10 minutes and got a 6.5 rating.

Miguel Almiron – Paraguay

Russia vs Paraguay (Monday, March 25): Miguel Almiron‘s game was called off in light of the recent Moscow terror attack.

Bruno Guimaraes – Brazil

England 0 – 1 Brazil (Saturday, March 23): Bruno Guimaraes faced off with England at Wembley and had a really good game. He played 78 minutes, saw his side get the victory and secured a 7.8 rating.
Spain 3 – 3 Brazil (Tuesday, March 26): The Brazilian also played 45 minutes against Spain in a thrilling 3-3 draw. He picked up a yellow card and got a 6.5 rating in a disappointing performance.

Emil Krafth – Sweden

Portugal 5 – 2 Sweden (Thursday, March 21): Emil Krafth had a 30-minute against Roberto Martinez’s Portugal in an absolute battering. He had little impact and got a 6.0 rating.
Sweden 1 – 0 Albania (Monday, March 25): Krafth had a much better run out against Albania. Starting the fixture, he played 86 minutes and came out with a 7.2 rating.

Alexander Isak – Sweden

Portugal 5 – 2 Sweden (Thursday, March 21): Alexander Isak played all 90 minutes in the Portugal battering, not having a sniff all game. He got a 6.3 rating and didn’t get the best press coverage.
Sweden 1 – 0 Albania (Monday, March 25): Isak fared better against the Albanians. The scintillating Swede didn’t score but got a 7.5 rating in an all-new role for his country.

Fabian Schar – Switzerland

Switzerland 0 – 0 Denmark (Saturday, March 23): Fabian Schar had a fine 90-minute run out for his country against Denmark. He kept a clean sheet which contributed to a 7.9 rating.
Ireland 0 – 1 Switzerland (Tuesday, March 26): Schar also played 79 minutes in his side’s 1-0 victory against the Irish. He got a 6.8 rating.

Martin Dubravka – Slovakia

Austria 2 – 0 Slovakia (Saturday, March 23): Martin Dubravka played all 90 in a 2-0 loss to Austria. He had a bit of disaster but did keep out a lot, so was rewarded with a 7.1 rating.
Norway 1 – 1 Slovakia (Tuesday, March 26): Dubravka did not feature against Norway.

Lewis Miley – England U20s

England U20s 5 – 1 Poland U20s (Friday, March 22): One of Newcastle’s finest academy graduates in recent times, Lewis Miley suffered an injury whilst starting against Poland. Not good.
England U20s 3 – 1 Czech Republic U20s (Tuesday, March 26): Didn’t play through injury.

Lewis Hall – England U20s

England U20s 5 – 1 Poland U20s (Friday, March 22): Lewis Hall started the 5-1 rout against Poland. He did not obtain any goals or assists.
England U20s 3 – 1 Czech Republic U20s (Tuesday, March 26): Hall came on for 37 minutes for England U20s. Playing in midfield and the score at 1-1 he set up two goals to help them win 3-1.
