Nine current Newcastle United players are on international duty over the next week or so. Here’s every Magpies star involved and the fixtures they could feature in.
It’s been a difficult few weeks for Newcastle United. The depleting loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup means that Eddie Howe‘s side can no longer obtain silverware this season.
Newcastle also sit 10th in the Premier League, in what seems like light years from a potential Champions League spot. This is why the international break may have come at a good time for the first-team squad.

Anthony Gordon – England

The big news of the week is Anthony Gordon gets his first-ever England call-up. He faces two tough tests against Brazil and Belgium. Talk about a baptism of fire.
Miguel Almiron – Paraguay

- Russia (Monday, March 25)
Miguel Almiron, controversially, has a friendly with Russia – who are currently banned from competing in all FIFA tournaments.
Bruno Guimaraes – Brazil

- England (Saturday, March 23)
- Albania (Monday, March 25)
Newcastle fans will for once be cheering against Bruno Guimaraes when he faces England on Saturday. The Brazilian also faces Albania two days later.
Emil Krafth – Sweden

- Portugal (Thursday, March 21)
- Albania (Monday, March 25)
Emil Krafth faces a tough test against Portugal and then Albania four days later.
Alexander Isak – Sweden

- Portugal (Thursday, March 21)
- Albania (Monday, March 25)
Joining Krafth will be prolific Swedish forward, Alexander Isak. The St James’ Park faithful will just be hoping he comes back unscathed so he can play in the run-in till the end of the season.

Fabian Schar – Switzerland

- Ireland (Tuesday, March 26)
Fabian Schar will be linking up with Switzerland, where he faces the task of defeating Denmark and then Ireland.
Martin Dubravka – Slovakia

- Austria (Saturday, March 23)
- Norway (Tuesday, March 26)
Slovakian Martin Dubravka also faces two mightily tough clashes. He will be between the sticks as they take on Austria and will be tasked to stop Erling Haaland of Norway.
Lewis Miley – England U20s

- Azerbaijan U21 (Friday, March 22)
- Luxembourg U21 (Tuesday, March 26)
One of Newcastle’s finest academy graduates in recent times, Lewis Miley has been rewarded for his fine performances with a call-up to England U20s. They face Azerbaijan and Luxembourg.
Lewis Hall – England U20s

- Azerbaijan U21 (Friday, March 22)
- Luxembourg U21 (Tuesday, March 26)
Joining Miley is a youngster who shares the same name – Lewis Hall. The young defender on loan from Chelsea will also link up with the young Three Lions squad.
