Newcastle United find themselves in a bit of a stalemate when it comes to a contract talks with Alexander Isak.
The one silver lining to Newcastle United’s underwhelming summer transfer window is that they managed to keep hold of their biggest stars, including Alexander Isak.
Arsenal and Chelsea were interested in Isak over the summer, but Newcastle kept hold of the Swedish striker.
After tying down Anthony Gordon to a new long-term deal, Newcastle wanted to offer Isak a new deal to end all speculation of him leaving.
However, it was reported that Isak is currently not in talks with Newcastle with discussions seemingly stalling between the player’s camp and club officials.

Alexander Isak’s demands to stay at Newcastle
It has been reported that Isak wants to sign a new contract, but the 25-year-old appears to have plenty of boxes to tick before a final agreement can be struck.
Isak wants to be Newcastle’s top earner if he signs a new long-term deal at the club – he currently earns £120,000 per week on his current deal which is set to run until 2028.
Eddie Howe hinted that PSR will impact Isak’s contract talks, with the Newcastle boss insisting the club have to be “careful” with their spending.
But his demands are not only financial – Isak wants Newcastle to qualify for Europe this season and will reportedly look for an exit route if the Magpies go another season without continental football.
Transfer specialist Graeme Bailey exclusively revealed to Geordie Boot Boys that Isak’s camp are not happy with how the contract talks have gone so far, and a fresh report claims it will be months until Newcastle revisit Isak’s contract.
What Newcastle chiefs have told Alexander Isak
Newcastle’s star striker has made a slow start to the season and fans called Isak ‘selfish’ vs Chelsea after he squandered a big chance against the Blues.
After only scoring twice this season, Newcastle have issued a challenge to Isak before they agree to meet his contract demands.

According to The Telegraph, Isak has been told it is up to him to prove he deserves to become the club’s highest earner.
Newcastle are currently not in talks over a new deal and only plan to revisit negotiations at the end of the season with club chiefs “relaxed” about the situation.
