Alexander Isak is yet to sign a new contract with Newcastle United.
It has been a long time since negotiations with Alexander Isak started, yet still Newcastle United have been unable to come to terms over a new deal.
Back in April, it was suggested that Isak would sign a new contract with Newcastle United in just a few weeks. It is now October, and that is yet to happen.
In the meantime, Anthony Gordon is on the brink of signing a new Newcastle contract. He is set to commit his future to the Magpies, and it has been reported that Newcastle’s next priority is to give Isak a new deal.
However, it appears that negotiations with the 25-year-old have been a little bit more difficult.
Alexander Isak’s contract demands for Newcastle United

Now TalkSPORT have provided an update on the Isak contract situation, and shared details on what Newcastle need to offer the super Swede before he decides to extend his stay at St James’ Park.
According to TalkSPORT, Isak wants to become Newcastle United’s highest paid player.
That honour currently belongs to Bruno Guimaraes, who earns around £160,000-a-week at Newcastle United.
TalkSPORT add that Isak would also like to have a release clause in his contract, just like Bruno. The Brazilian’s clause is worth £100million, and is probably the reason why he did not leave Newcastle over the summer. In short, no one decided to activate it.
A release clause would surely not be a problem, but it remains to be seen what the Magpies’ stance was. Gordon was expected to have a release clause in his new deal, but Geordie Boot Boys understand that will not be the case.
Alexander Isak can prove he deserves bumper Newcastle deal when he returns from injury
Isak’s demands are pretty straightforward. The hope will be that Newcastle decide to give him what he wants, as he is invaluable to the Magpies.
Newcastle’s most expensive signing ever is probably the one player that Eddie Howe simply cannot afford to lose, so it is in the club’s best interest to tie him down to a longer deal.
Speculation over his future comes at a time when Isak is due to return from injury. He has missed Newcastle’s last three games with a toe injury, but is due to return against Brighton on Saturday.

The Magpies’ number 14 has only scored one goal this campaign, but a swift return to last season’s form will prove to Toon officials why he deserves to be one of if not the best paid player at the club.
