Keeping hold of Alexander Isak will be a top priority for Newcastle United over the next few transfer windows.
The summer transfer window just past was nothing short of a huge disappointment for Newcastle United after the club failed to land any of their top targets.
Newcastle are now paying the price for their lack of transfer activity, especially in forward areas with Eddie Howe‘s side struggling to score this season.
However, one silver lining to the summer window was Newcastle keeping hold of their biggest stars despite facing interest from the ‘Big Six’.
Liverpool showed an interest in Anthony Gordon but the 23-year-old stayed put on Tyneside and Gordon has now signed a new contract with Newcastle.
Bruno Guimaraes was wanted by Manchester City but stayed and was handed the captain’s armband, while Chelsea and Arsenal showed interest in Alexander Isak.

Alexander Isak’s demands for Newcastle contract
Keeping hold of Alexander Isak in the summer was a huge success, but there are fears that Arsenal and Chelsea could reignite interest in his signature in 2025.
Therefore, with Gordon now tied down to a new contract at St James’ Park, Newcastle want to offer Isak a new contract to end speculation over his future.
However, it has been reported that Isak wants to be Newcastle’s top earner if he is going to sign a new contract to stay at the club.
According to GiveMeSport, Isak will also look for an exit route out of Newcastle if the club cannot achieve European qualification this season.
The Newcastle board expect Howe to qualify for Europe now three years after the PIF takeover, but it is a big ask with the Magpies currently ninth in the Premier League table.

Chelsea and Arsenal on ‘red alert’
If there wasn’t already huge pressure on Newcastle to qualify for Europe this season, Isak’s future at the club could now depend on it.
The same report from above claims decision-makers behind the scenes at Chelsea and Arsenal have been made aware of Isak’s demands.
Both Premier League clubs are said to be on “red alert” over Isak’s potential availability in 2025 if Newcastle are unable to return to Europe.
Isak’s current contract does not expire until 2028 but a new bumper deal now has to be a top priority at Newcastle.
