Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak could still leave in the summer after a sensational season in front of goal.
The Swede has been the Magpies’ standout player this season, scoring 19 Premier League goals and playing a big part in getting Newcastle United to another Carabao Cup final.
His exceptional form means that there are eyes on him over a summer move, but it won’t be cheap. Reports suggest that Alexander Isak could cost over £120m in the summer, a fee that would smash the British transfer record.
Newcastle United do not feel obliged to sell Isak who still has over three years left on his existing deal. In fact, Newcastle want to give Isak a new contract in order to deter any interest from the interested parties.
Paul Mitchell is assigned to get Isak to commit his future to Newcastle – it may not be as easy as it seems.
With Mitchell set to sit down with Isak in the summer, presenter Simon Jordan has formulated an interesting backup plan should the Swede leave.

Simon Jordan links Harry Kane with Newcastle move
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has been phenomenal this season, proving he can perform wherever he plays rather than just in England.
So far this season, Kane has 39 goal contributions in 32 games across all competitions, including 21 goals in the Bundesliga. Bayern are flying in the league this season so Kane looks set to win the first trophy of his career under former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany.
Rumours have spread in recent weeks claiming that Kane could leave Bayern at the end of the season in favour of a move back to England. The 31-year-old is close to breaking Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goalscoring record which Kane will surely have his eyes on.

It was also revealed that Kane will have a £54m release clause in his contract this summer which could see clubs jump into action to sign one of the best strikers in the world.
In his column in the Daily Mail, Jordan has suggested that a Newcastle move would be ‘interesting’ for Kane should Isak leave, but he admits that he doesn’t know who could afford the 25-year-old’s hefty asking price in the summer. Jordan even went as far as to state that even Real Madrid and Barcelona would struggle to afford him because of financial rules in Spain.
Newcastle should not try to sign Harry Kane
Anthony Gordon thinks Kane is world-class. But he isn’t a player Newcastle should be actively looking to sign.
The striker turns 32 in the summer so Howe would have limited time to squeeze the very best out of him before he enters the twilight of his career. £54m is still a gargantuan fee for a player of that age, no matter how good they are.
Alongside his transfer fee, Kane would also carry a huge wage bill which would see him become Newcastle’s highest earner by a sizeable margin. It may even be a wage the Magpies simply can’t afford.
Kane also goes against Mitchell’s new transfer plan at Newcastle. Mitchell will target young players at Newcastle in the summer, having seemingly landed Antonio Cordero on a free transfer already.
Signing young players means Newcastle can sign more players with lower price tags and more potential for success.
