Arsenal have been linked with a move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
Sweden international Alexander Isak has been a standout player for Newcastle United this season, scoring 17 Premier League goals which has only been bettered by Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.
Arsenal’s interest in the 25-year-old has been widely reported this season but the belief is that Newcastle want more than £120m for Isak which would smash the British transfer record.
Isak has been a big reason why Newcastle reached the Carabao Cup final, beating Arsenal in both legs of the semis – he scored in the first leg and caused problems for the Gunners’ defence throughout the second leg at St James’ Park.
Arsenal fans were in awe of Isak’s performances against them in the cup. It gave them even more desire to sign him in the summer no matter the transfer fee.
While there has been widely reported interest from the North London side, Newcastle want to give Isak a new contract that would see him become the club’s highest earner.
With Newcastle fans hoping Paul Mitchell can work his magic on the Swede, one Arsenal fan has made a ridiculous claim that presenter Andy Goldstein simply could not believe.

Newcastle told to sign Harry Kane as Alexander Isak replacement
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has looked unstoppable since making his big-money move to the Bundesliga. Since joining in 2023, Kane has scored 73 goals in 74 games across all competitions for the German giants.
Kane could return to England in the summer after SportBILD revealed that his £67m release clause from the winter will drop to £54m at the end of the season.
Before he left Tottenham, Kane looked set to break Newcastle legend Alan Shearer’s longstanding record for the most goals in the Premier League. Now, according to Arsenal fan Raheem, Newcastle will sign Harry Kane when the Gunners go ‘all out’ for Isak in the summer.

The statement was met with bewilderment from talkSPORT presenter Goldstein who questioned why Isak would leave Newcastle for Arsenal.
“How did Newcastle get on against Arsenal in recent times?” he asked in reference to the Magpies’ unbeaten record against Arsenal this season.
The Arsenal fan also claimed that Isak would join the club because the number 14 shirt was free – a statement that Goldstein laughed at and said: “You honestly think an empty shirt with two numbers on the back is enough to prise Isak away from Arsenal.”
Isak could wear Newcastle’s number nine shirt next season if Callum Wilson leaves the club in the summer. However, Isak wants to stay as the number 14 at Newcastle as he claims that he has had most of his success wearing that number.
Newcastle have been linked with Harry Kane before
While a move for Kane does not seem to be a likely option for Newcastle, he has been linked to the Magpies in the past.
Before moving to Germany, Kane was linked with a £100m move to Newcastle which would have made him Newcastle’s most expensive signing, completely trumping Isak’s record transfer fee.
While the move looked improbable, Neil Ruddock told Kane to join Newcastle so he could break Shearer’s Premier League record.
Kane always seemed to be on top form against the Magpies, the 31-year-old scored 10 goals in 17 games across all competitions including Spurs’ only goal in Newcastle’s historic 6-1 win during the 2022/23 season.
