Newcastle United could be about to sell Will Osula on transfer deadline day.

With Alexander Isak set to join Liverpool, there could be another major outgoing at St James’ Park before 7pm.

It has been reported that Newcastle will allow Will Osula to leave the club, and that could now become a reality.

A move to the Bundesliga is on the cards, with reports claiming that Osula is set to join Eintracht Frankfurt for £30million.

It is a remarkable bit of business by Newcastle United, who bought the 22-year-old for £10million in the summer of 2024. 12 months later and it looks like the Magpies could treble their money.

Newcastle United fans want another striker on deadline day if Will Osula leaves

It is a staggering fee for a player who has scored just two Premier League goals during his Toon career.

Newcastle simply cannot turn down that kind of money for Will Osula, but his potential departure does leave Eddie Howe light in attack once again.

That is why Newcastle United fans on X think that another incoming deal could be done on deadline day after Yoane Wissa arrives.

One fan wrote: “If Osula is going to Frankfurt, we MUST be working on someone else. Is JLS 100% off? I have a feeling it’s not.”

“Great bit of business if this goes through but surely this gives us room in the squad to add another attacker, Osula would have been used quite a lot in the early rounds of the cups,” posted a second Newcastle fan.

This supporter added: “If Osula goes to Frankfurt we’ve gotta be getting another forward in. Surely? Especially if we are selling for £30m!”

Another member of the Toon Army commented: “If we selling Osula then let’s get one more player in please #nufc. Got to feel sorry for Elanga who came here to be with his friends Osula and Isak, now both leaving!”

Who Newcastle United’s third choice striker will be

Once Wissa officially arrives, Newcastle United will have two very good striker options with him and Nick Woltemade.

They will hopefully dovetail seamlessly, as the Magpies prepare to compete on multiple fronts.

In terms of a third choice, Osula’s possible departure is resulting in fans hoping for another new recruit. However, the most likely solution is that Eddie Howe turns to Anthony Gordon in the event that Wissa and Woltemade are unavailable.

While another signing would be ideal, Newcastle should have confidence that they have adequate cover. Even if Osula were to remain on Tyneside, he would likely be behind Gordon in the pecking order anyway.

What Newcastle will do by selling him is strengthen their PSR position even further. With his possible exit and Isak’s move to Liverpool, the Magpies are going to be in a very strong financial position. That will be encouraging for the January transfer window and beyond.
