Hours after the end of deadline day, Newcastle United have now confirmed another loan departure.
Eddie Howe will have to make do with his current Newcastle United squad after being denied any major signings for a third consecutive window.
Due to PSR concerns, Newcastle were always prepared to go through the winter window without adding any signings.
However, Howe’s squad has been weakened with Miguel Almiron rejoining Atlanta United and Lloyd Kelly signing for Juventus on loan with an obligatory £20m buy clause.
There were several other departures including Jamie Miley’s move to Hartlepool and Isaac Hayden’s loan move to Portsmouth. Newcastle have now confirmed another departure.

James Huntley leaves Newcastle United on loan
While the transfer window slammed shut for Newcastle on Monday evening, the window remains open for clubs in lower divisions.
Newcastle confirmed on Tuesday morning that academy star James Huntley has joined Spennymoor Town on loan.
The 20-year-old is set to spend the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign at the National League side.
Huntley has been a regular in Newcastle United’s Under-21s side, playing primarily as a central midfielder.
However, with Newcastle’s impressive midfield depth, a breakthrough under Howe looks increasingly unlikely. Huntley now has an opportunity to gather invaluable experience with Spennymoor.
James Huntley was involved in Newcastle squad vs PSG
Huntley, who was born in Northumberland, has been with Newcastle’s academy since the age of eight. He has climbed all the way through the youth ranks to the brink of the first team.
He was included in the 2024/25 first-team squad with Huntley handed the No.38 shirt – one below club captain Bruno Guimaraes.
After starring in the Under-18s and Under-21s, Huntley’s first call-up to a first-team matchday squad was iconic.
Not just any squad either. Huntley made the trip to Paris in November 2023 and was on the bench for Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with PSG in the Champions League.
Howe named three academy players on the bench with Huntley joined by Michael Ndiweni and Ben Parkinson. While he did not come on to make his debut, travelling with the first team in a Champions League squad will be a memorable experience for the young midfielder.
