Newcastle United confident of signing another star after Benjamin Sesko, he’s taking drastic measures

Benjamin Sesko may not be the only striker Newcastle United sign this summer, and it could have a major impact on Alexander Isak.

Newcastle won’t sell Isak unless they find a replacement and have rejected an opening offer from Liverpool.

While Liverpool may walk away from the Isak deal, there remains a chance they return to the table once Newcastle find what is deemed an adequate replacement.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have made a club-record bid for Sesko as Eddie Howe looks to bring in extra firepower.

It remains to be seen if Newcastle can sign Sesko, who is still being heavily linked with Manchester United.

If he does arrive, however, he may not be the only one.

Newcastle United still hopeful of signing Yoane Wissa

According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle remain confident that they can sign Brentford’s Yoane Wissa

Wissa wants to join Newcastle, who have seen a bid rejected by the London club. However, as is the case with Isak, he could be allowed to move on once a replacement is found.

The report adds that Newcastle expect Liverpool to make a fresh bid for Isak despite all the talk that they were willing to walk away.

Isak is due to return to Newcastle training next week, having missed the club’s pre-season tour of Asia with a “minor thigh injury”.

Wissa reportedly told Brentford he’d never play for them again as he looks to move to St James’ Park, such is his desire to play Champions League football next season.

Wissa returned to Brentford but did not train with his teammates and left before the rest of the squad. They look like drastic steps to take to secure a move away.

The DR Congo international remains strong in his stance to leave, though it’s perhaps not an admirable position to take.

It’s the same situation Isak is in, and he has invoked the ire of supporters.

On Saturday, Sky Sports claimed that Wissa did not travel to Brentford’s pre-season friendly against QPR.
