Newcastle United fans are hoping for incomings on transfer deadline day, but there also looks set to be outgoings.
It has been reported that Newcastle are working on one signing ahead of the transfer window closing at 11pm, with Toon officials attempting to salvage a summer that unravelled when the Marc Guehi deal collapsed.
It could be a race against time for Newcastle to make a signing, while they are also working hard to get players out of the club.
Update on Ryan Fraser leaving Newcastle United on deadline day
One of those players is Ryan Fraser, and there has been an update on his Newcastle United future.
According to Sky Sports, Newcastle are now close to terminating Fraser’s Toon contract ahead of a move to Southampton.

They report that there are still some details to be finalised, but once they are done he will be available on a free transfer and can join Southampton.
They had him on loan last season, as they won promotion back to the Premier League. Since coming back up, manager Russell Martin has wanted to re-sign the ‘amazing‘ 30-year-old, and it was claimed at the start of the summer that Fraser has a deal in place to join Southampton.
However, an inability to agree terms with Newcastle looked set to cost Fraser a move to St Mary’s. Martin even stated earlier this month that a deal for Fraser was unlikely.
But that could be about to change, with the Magpies attempting to wind up the final 12 months of Fraser’s Newcastle United contract.
Newcastle also trying to move Isaac Hayden on
Another fringe player that Newcastle United are trying to move on is Isaac Hayden.
He has two years left to run on his current contract, but has no future at St James’ Park.
Newcastle have been trying to loan Hayden out, with Queens Park Rangers interested in bringing the midfielder in having had him temporarily last season.
However, Sky Sports state that a deal for Hayden to join QPR on loan collapsed on the morning of transfer deadline day.
