Newcastle United are set to let Isaac Hayden leave the club on loan before the summer transfer window closes.

The 29-year-old is surplus to requirements at St James’ Park, with Isaac Hayden‘s last Newcastle United appearance coming in December 2021.

The midfielder has barely featured for the club since Eddie Howe’s arrival as manager, but still has two years left to run on his contract.

Hayden has been loaned out three times by Newcastle United in recent years, having played for Norwich City, Standard Liege and Queens Park Rangers. He made 17 appearances for the Rs last season, and it has been reported that QPR would like to re-sign Hayden.

Newcastle United happy to loan out Isaac Hayden again

Now a fourth temporary move away from Newcastle United is on the cards, with HITC Football insider Graeme Bailey revealing to Geordie Boot Boys that Hayden is set to be loaned out once again, with three Championship clubs chasing his signature.

“We understand that Newcastle United are willing to let Isaac Hayden go out on loan,” he said.

“Queens Park Rangers, Hull City and West Brom are all battling it out for his signature.

“He’s been a good servant for Newcastle, but he just is not in the reckoning now. He wants first-team football. He is a very good Championship player, and it is our understanding that he will be going out on loan.

“Those three clubs are leading the way.”

Hayden will hope to earn a permanent transfer

With two years left to run on his Newcastle United contract, it was always going to be difficult for Hayden to negotiate a permanent exit from Tyneside this summer.

He will have to settle for a loan departure, which will hopefully give Hayden the chance to earn a permanent deal in the future.

Out of the three clubs listed, QPR is probably the most appealing to Hayden. He played at Loftus Road last season and would be welcomed back with open arms, while he is from that part of the world having came through the Arsenal academy.

Wherever Hayden goes, he just needs to play football. He was great for Newcastle during an extremely difficult period, and became recognised as a player who sacrificed a lot for the club.

Whether it was under Rafa Benitez, Steve Bruce or Eddie Howe, Hayden was always extremely reliable, and it would be great to see him get back to his best.

Hopefully he can do that this season, with a loan move to the Championship on the horizon.
