Newcastle have made a number of signings this summer but manager Eddie Howe’s wish to sign a new winger is still yet to be granted.

Newcastle United’s search for a new right winger has been well-documented in recent times.

Eddie Howe wanted Michael Olise but the Frenchman opted to join Bayern Munich, meanwhile, Newcastle’s interest in Pedro Neto also came to nothing as the forward signed for Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Newcastle’s transfer frustrations however are only set to continue, as another attacking target is set to be scratched off the wishlist after Ferran Torres reportedly rejected the chance to join the Magpies.

Ferran Torres has ‘no intention’ of joining Newcastle

Rumours of Miguel Almiron’s potential Newcastle exit have seen the Magpies step up their efforts to secure a new attacker before the transfer deadline, with Barcelona’s Torres being the latest name linked with the Tyneside outfit.

That is according is Spanish outlet Sport, who revealed on Monday that the Magpies were preparing an ‘attractive proposal’ to tempt Barcelona into a sale, with a bid set to be tabled ‘in the next few days’.

Those reports however have since been denied by Torres’ camp.

Marca revealed on Monday evening, that the former Manchester City star ‘knows nothing’ about the Newcastle links and reportedly ‘doesn’t want to know’, voicing his desire to stay at Barcelona.

Torres was linked with Newcastle back in June, but the Euro 2024 winner reportedly wants to remain with the Catalan team and fight for a first-team spot under new manager Hansi Flick.

This news will come as a disappointment to Toon fans as the Barca man could have been an impressive upgrade on Eddie Howe’s current right-wing options, with Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy both struggling to provide the goods consistently at St James’ Park.

Newcastle could now tempted by Noni Madueke move

Paul Mitchell’s quest to land a new attacker before the August 30th deadline could see Newcastle intensify their pursuit of Chelsea’s Noni Madueke.

It was revealed last week that the Magpies were interested in signing the Blues winger, with Fabrizio Romano claiming Newcastle have been showing ‘interest for weeks’.

Joao Felix’s Stamford Bridge arrival could also open the door to a potential move, with Enzo Maresca seemingly preferring other attacking options, as Madueke was left on the bench against Man City last weekend.
