Newcastle United may have been right to cool their interest in Dean Huijsen.

The 20-year-old has been on Newcastle United’s radar for a few months, with Paul Mitchell and Eddie Howe planning to bring another centre-back to St James’ Park.

Based on his profile, Huijsen would be ideal for Newcastle United.

The Magpies even held talks over a £50million deal, with Newcastle speaking to Huijsen’s representatives.

But it was recently reported that Newcastle were distancing themselves from Huijsen, amid a feeling that the youngster is eager to go elsewhere.

Real Madrid make Dean Huijsen move

That feeling could prove to be correct, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal keen on the defender too.

However, they could also be left disappointed as Real Madrid enter the conversation.

According to the Telegraph, Real Madrid are confident that they are going to sign Huijsen from Bournemouth.

The report states that Los Blancos are moving quickly and are prepared to activate his £50million release clause.

That will be music to his ears, as Geordie Boot Boys were recently told that Huijsen’s preference is to join a Spanish club.

That dream could now come true, as Real Madrid signal their intent.

Another Bournemouth player is unlikely to join Newcastle United

Huijsen is not the only Bournemouth star who Newcastle United have been showing an interest in.

Antoine Semenyo is also a Newcastle target, with the Magpies in the market for a winger.

However, Geordie Boot Boys have been told by TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey that the 25-year-old is more likely to move to Saudi Arabia.

“Bournemouth will let Semenyo leave,” he said.

“They would ask for a lot of money. He would be more expensive than Bryan Mbeumo, for example.

“He could very well end up in Saudi Arabia.

“Is any Premier League club willing to pay more than £60million for Semenyo? Not from what I am hearing.”
