Newcastle United are in the race to sign Dean Huijsen.
The Magpies know they need to sign a right-sided centre-back, and Huijsen is a Newcastle target.
The 19-year-old is very much a man in demand, as he continues to excel in a Bournemouth shirt.
Newcastle are aware they face competition for Huijsen, with the teenager boasting a £50million release clause in his contract.
A lot of Premier League clubs are eager to secure his signature, including Newcastle United. However, Huijsen’s future may lie elsewhere.
Dean Huijsen could be eyeing Premier League exit
That is according to TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, who has told Geordie Boot Boys that Huijsen’s preference could be to play in Spain rather than remain in England.
“Dean Huijsen has now made his Spain debut, and he has a lot of interest from La Liga,” he said.
“Although he is Dutch-born, he lived in Spain from being five-years-old and loves it there. Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona all like him.
“He does have a release clause at Bournemouth, but they would be open to a different deal where the payment would be over a certain period of time.
“It’s up to the player where he goes. There is a lot of competition for him. While many people will not want to believe he wants to leave the Premier League to move to Spain, it really is a thing. I think there is a real chance that is where he ends up.”

Much to Bournemouth’s disappointment, it feels inevitable that Huijsen will leave the Vitality Stadium after just one season.
And much to Newcastle’s disappointment, a return to Spain appears to be his preference. La Liga’s elite are eyeing up Huijsen, who made his Spain debut in the Nations League on Thursday night.
No matter what, the defender appears primed for a move. The likes of Newcastle and Liverpool were contacted by Huijsen’s representatives recently, as they get set to secure his next club.
While Huijsen recently praised Alexander Isak, it suddenly feels unlikely that they will become teammates at St James’ Park.
That is a shame, as he would be a perfect long-term replacement for Fabian Schar.
