A Newcastle United player has quietly signed a permanent contract to move away from Tyneside after completing a move to the Magpies in 2024.
The transfer window has been full of many twists and turns for the Magpies, with Anthony Elanga signing but several other deals falling through due to complications.
Newcastle United are still eager to be busy in the transfer window, with a striker, centre-back and goalkeeper all on Eddie Howe’s list of priorities ahead of a competitive and congested 2025/26 season. While incomings are a big focus, departures from the club have also been confirmed.
Callum Wilson announced his Newcastle exit after five memorable seasons earlier in July. While his new club has not been confirmed, reports suggest Wilson could sign for West Ham United after talks.
Elsewhere, Sean Longstaff was announced as a Leeds United player last week, ending a long spell with his boyhood club. Newcastle want to replace Longstaff this summer, but it remains to be seen who will come in as a squad player in midfield.
Amid the chaos of the transfer window, another Newcastle exit has been confirmed for a player who only moved to Tyneside last year.

Mo Sedibeh leaves Newcastle United to join Spanish fourth-tier side
You can be forgiven if you have not heard the name Mo Sedibeh before. The young attacking midfielder signed for the Magpies in 2024 after leaving Bradford, where he had represented them at Under-18s level.
While he would have joined with a fair amount of hype around him, it is clear that Sedibeh was always going to struggle on Tyneside. He made just a handful of appearances for the young Magpies, including a short cameo in a 3-2 defeat to Boston United in the National League Cup.
It appears the writing was always on the wall for him due to his lack of appearances, and he has now completed a move away from Tyneside.
UB Conquense, who play in the fourth tier of Spanish football, announced the signing of Sedibeh on Wednesday evening. A statement from the club read: “The arrival of Mo Sedibeh represents a historic leap forward for Spanish football and reflects the ambition and seriousness of the new sporting project being built in Cuenca.
“This move, unprecedented in the club’s recent history, also opens the door to a strategic relationship with Newcastle United, consolidating Cuenca as an attractive destination for young national and international talent.”
Newcastle United need to make a decision on another youth player this summer
Newcastle announced their squad for their tour of Asia, with the big story being Alexander Isak’s omission due to a thigh injury. However, there appears to be a lack of youth players included in the squad.
Howe has named seven academy players in his squad, but there are many others who could have got on the plane. One of those is Garang Kuol, the attacker who joined Newcastle in 2023 after featuring in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but things have not gone to plan for him on Tyneside.

After a promising season, Kuol has hinted he needs to leave Newcastle to have a better chance of playing for the Australian national team in the future. The 20-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for Newcastle, and his lack of inclusion in the Asia tour suggests Howe is not ready to give him his opportunity to shine.
Newcastle could loan Kuol out this summer, but a clean break could be the best option with just a year left on his deal.
