Everything you need to know about Newcastle United’s pre-season plans.
Newcastle United enjoyed a sensational season as the 70-year wait for a trophy finally came to an end in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, and Eddie Howe secured Champions League football for next year.
With the trophy monkey finally off Newcastle’s back, it could well be the opening of the floodgates and fans will be eager to see the club challenge for the Premier League title in 2025-26.
A big transfer window will be needed but preparations will also have to be spot on to ensure the Magpies get off to the best possible start.
Newcastle will be heading on tour once again this summer and here is everything you need to know about the club’s pre-season plans.

Where is Newcastle United’s 2025 pre-season tour?
Newcastle have confirmed they will be heading to Singapore and South Korea on their trip to Asia.
Newcastle toured Japan last summer and PIF are aiming to further build the club’s brand in Asia with another visit.
Peter Silverstone, Chief Commercial Officer at Newcastle, said: “This will be one of the standout pre-season matches taking place anywhere in Asia this summer.
“The National Stadium in Singapore is a magnificent setting and we’re expecting a packed stadium given the love for the Premier League and for both clubs that exists across Asia.
“On the pitch, the team will have access to elite facilities, while off the pitch we have another wonderful opportunity to meet and engage with our supporters and partners in an exciting market.
“We want to thank the tour promoter TEG and the Singapore Tourism Board for inviting the club to be part of the Festival of Football.”
It will be the first time Newcastle have ever visited South Korea and they last travelled to Singapore when Kevin Keegan was in charge in 1996.
In addition, Newcastle will also head to Scotland to take on Celtic in the first-ever Adidas Trophy.
When do Newcastle players return for pre-season in 2025?
It has not been confirmed when the squad will return from their well-earned holidays.
The players reported back to training on July 11 last year, playing a friendly in England a few weeks later before then heading off to Japan towards the end of the month.
It looks like a similar schedule will be in place this summer after a friendly was confirmed for July 19.
Eddie Howe said on the tour: “Pre-season is all about setting the right challenges to ensure we are ready for the new season,” said Eddie Howe. “So we’re pleased to be playing against high-calibre opposition in an iconic stadium.
“Having Singapore as part of our pre-season will provide a special experience for supporters in Asia, and we’re looking forward to seeing them and playing in front of them in July.”
