Newcastle United’s summer transfer window would be bad enough without Alexander Isak making life all the more difficult.
Isak has asked to leave Newcastle United, and, in his defence, there are legitimate reasons to want to move on.
Indeed, Isak wanted Newcastle to show more ambition, and is said to have been frustrated by a lack of progress off the pitch.
Several Newcastle players reportedly agree with Isak, and PIF do have questions to answer.
The club’s decision-making moves at a glacial speed. The Newcastle United owners are yet to offer any kind of update in regard to a new sporting director, CEO, training ground or stadium.
Isak, or perhaps his agents at least, aren’t free of blame. This has been a damaging saga for Newcastle, not helped by their star player throwing their plans for the new season into crisis.
In fact, the forward himself has been in contact with the rest of the Newcastle United squad.

Alexander Isak tells Newcastle United squad he wants to move to Liverpool
According to Eduardo Burgos – who is a journalist for reputable Spanish outlet AS – Isak has told the Newcastle United dressing room he wants to leave this summer.
He adds that Newcastle are expecting an opening offer from Liverpool worth more than £120million this week.
Negotiations are set to take place, which is a worry for Newcastle fans hoping Isak will still stay.
If the club are even going to enter talks with Liverpool, it would surely suggest they are open to some kind of deal.

“Newcastle awaits Liverpool’s first offer for Alexander Isak,” he wrote on social media platform X.
“It is expected to be above £120million. The player has already informed the club and the dressing room of his desire to leave. Official negotiations between the two entities will open this week.”
What Newcastle United players expect to happen with Alexander Isak
Sections of the Newcastle squad expect Isak to leave this summer, which is hardly good news for the more optimistic people amongst the fan base.
Still, it remains to be seen if just above £120million is enough or even if Liverpool are prepared to go higher than that.
Newcastle value Isak at over £150million and are under no immediate financial pressure to sell him this summer.
If Liverpool want him that badly, why haven’t they bid already? The Premier League season starts soon and there’s little time to waste.
Until they bid, the mess continues.
