After the highs of the Champions League and signing a new contract with Newcastle United, Bruno Guimaraes is now off to play for his country.
With Joelinton injured, Bruno is the only Newcastle player who has been included in the Brazil squad. The 25-year-old is now training alongside the likes of Neymar and Vinicius Junior as they prepare to face Venezuela and Uruguay in World Cup qualifiers.
Bruno heads into the international break in staggering form, having truly established himself as Newcastle’s main man after a slow start to the season.
The midfielder is back to his best, as he showed during the Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain. Bruno was absolutely outstanding that night, and was praised by the French media after the game.
He has since signed a new contract with Newcastle that will keep him at St James’ Park until 2028. It has seen him receive a massive pay rise, with one report claiming he is now the third-best paid player in the entire Premier League.

Bruno Guimaraes enjoying Brazil duty
Regardless of whether or not that is true, Bruno is an elite player, which is why he is a regular in the Brazil team.
He has been training with his country ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, and posted a picture of himself smiling as he prepares for the international double header.
Alongside the photo, he wrote: “Satisfaction.”
The post prompted a reply from Andre Trindade, who commented: “You are good.”
Andre is wanted by Liverpool
Andre is not in the current Brazil squad, but does have one cap for his country. He is a 22-year-old who still plays in his homeland, having made his professional debut for Fluminense at the age of 19.
Given Newcastle’s desire to tap into the South American market, it is a surprise that Andre has not been linked with a move to Tyneside over the past couple of years.

He is certainly talented enough, and is a player who Liverpool are trying to bring to the Premier League. They were looking to sign the £34million man during the summer, and are set to reignite their interest in 2024.
That would give Andre the chance to play against Bruno, who is clearly a player that he admires. Liverpool feel the same, as they have also been trying to sign our midfield magician!
But he is ours until 2028, unless someone activates that £100million release clause…
