Eddie Howe will recall his star players for Newcastle United’s Premier League clash with Wolves.

The Newcastle United manager made nine changes for the FA Cup game against Bromley, with Martin Dubravka and Joelinton the only players to retain their places in the starting XI.

The likes of Alexander Isak and Jacob Murphy missed out completely, but should return on Wednesday night.

Newcastle United are tipped to beat Wolves, and a win would mean it is nine victories in a row for Eddie Howe’s side.

Hopefully this incredible run continues, and this is Geordie Boot Boys’ predicted Newcastle United XI to face Wolves.

The big decision Eddie Howe must make against Wolves is who starts at centre-back.

Up until now, it has been easy. Howe has relied on Fabian Schar and Dan Burn, who have played brilliantly. Anthony Gordon called Burn Newcastle’s player of the season so far, and that is certainly a fair assessment.

But now their places in the starting XI are under threat, with Sven Botman back to full fitness after his ACL injury.

The 25-year-old will be eager to start, but it feels likely that Howe will stick with Schar and Burn given their form.

Elsewhere in defence, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall will return to the starting XI.

Lewis Miley on the Newcastle United bench

Lewis Miley was outstanding against Bromley, as the 18-year-old started for the first time since February 2024.

The teenager was a joy to watch, but Miley will be back on the bench on Wednesday night.

That is because Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes will return to the starting lineup, after being rested. It will be Bruno’s first start since the win over Tottenham, having been suspended for the Carabao Cup victory at Arsenal.

Harvey Barnes injured as Newcastle trio return

Newcastle United have suffered an injury blow ahead of the game against Wolves, with Harvey Barnes ruled out for a month.

The £39million winger suffered a muscle injury during the win over Bromley, and is now set for a spell on the sidelines. That is a blow, as Howe suddenly has even less depth in attack with Callum Wilson also injured.

In their absence, Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak will hope to continue their incredible form. They will be joined by Jacob Murphy, who has made the right wing position his own.

Predicted XI vs Wolves: Dubravka; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Bruno, Tonali, Joelinton; Murphy, Isak, Gordon.
