Newcastle United’s FA Cup win over Bromley came at a price, with Harvey Barnes suffering an injury.
The 27-year-old was named in the Newcastle United starting XI, with Eddie Howe giving the attacker a chance to prove why he should play more regularly.
However, Harvey Barnes failed to seize his opportunity. He endured a tough first half, with Anthony Gordon replacing him at the break.
But the change was enforced, rather than tactical. Barnes suffered a muscle injury and was unable to play on.
Harvey Barnes injury update

Now the Newcastle United manager has addressed Barnes’ injury, and it is not good news for the winger.
Eddie Howe has spoken to the media ahead of Newcastle’s Premier League game against Wolves, and confirmed that Barnes will be out of action for a month.
“He’s had a scan,” he said, as reported by the Chronicle.
“It’s not too bad but he will miss the upcoming games. We’re looking at around a month.”
Barnes injury highlights Newcastle’s need for a winger
The news about Barnes highlights Newcastle United’s need for reinforcements in attack.
While the Magpies are playing incredibly well right now, it could all fall apart with a bad run of injuries.
With Barnes out of action, there is even more pressure on Anthony Gordon to stay fit. The 23-year-old has a goal or an assist in his last eight games, and has been keeping Barnes out of the team with ease.
Now Gordon has no direct competition for that left wing position, with Joelinton the most likely to act as understudy. However, he is needed in the middle of the park alongside Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes.
Barnes’ injury sums up why Newcastle want to sign a winger this month.
Ideally they want someone to play on the right who can compliment Gordon and Alexander Isak in attack, but Howe is always looking for players who are versatile.
But with Newcastle’s PSR problems, it might be difficult for the club to sign a winger despite Barnes’ injury.
It will be interesting to see whether this impacts Miguel Almiron’s future. He can play on either flank, but has been heavily linked with a move away this month. Newcastle think Almiron will leave, but it remains to be seen if Barnes’ setback will alter their stance.
