The City of Newcastle are preparing for the biggest celebration event it has ever seen on Saturday.

Newcastle United finally ended a 70-year wait for a domestic trophy when they beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium earlier in March.

While Newcastle players initially went to Dubai to celebrate their achievement, they all knew that the historic day had to be shared with the fans.

Just a couple of days after the win, Newcastle confirmed plans for a Carabao Cup celebration event on the Town Moor. The event has proven to be extremely popular, with over 100,000 people registering for a ticket.

For some players, the party didn’t stop, even after their international duty. Joelinton partied in Brazil with his family after playing for his national team alongside Bruno Guimaraes.

Dan Burn celebrated with his Newcastle teammates at the Premier League of Darts at the Utilita Arena. The 32-year-old has etched himself into the history books after his goal in the Carabao Cup final coupled with his impressive England debut a few days later.

Newcastle is set to be a sea of black and white on Saturday, and it has now been confirmed who fans will be able to see on stage for what is set to be a memorable event.

Newcastle legends confirmed as guests for trophy celebrations

The event is truly one-of-a-kind and something many Newcastle fans have never seen the like of before. Newcastle officials are sure to have recognised that and have put forward a stellar line-up of guests for the Town Moor leg of the day.

Geordie TV duo Ant and Dec have been confirmed as guests for the event alongside Sky Sports and TNT presenters Pete Graves and Lynsey Hipgrave.

Both presenters are Newcastle fans and make a great fit for the day’s proceedings.

It has also been confirmed that there will be a Q&A with Newcastle legends, including record goalscorer Alan Shearer, his strike partner during the entertainers era, Les Ferdinand and Fairs Cup winner Bob Moncur.

The three legends will also be joined by Becky Langley’s Newcastle United Women’s squad.

Following those parts of the event and some live music, the Newcastle squad will take to the stage for a trophy lift before photographers take a full team and crowd photo.

Finally, a Q&A with Eddie Howe and the players will take place before the event closes with a ‘Spectacular Surprise’ from Sela.

Many fans are intrigued to see what Newcastle’s front of shirt sponsors Sela have in store for the closing of the event.

There have been recent murmers suggesting that it could involve local rockstar Sam Fender.

Initial reports suggested that Fender would not play at Newcastle’s celebrations. However, those recent rumours have not ruled out Fender’s appearance in Newcastle.

Shearer was seen partying at Fender’s gig in Amsterdam just a few days after Newcastle won the Carabao Cup, there is a chance that the club legend could have persuaded the North Shields-born singer to play a couple of tunes to the crowd as a big finale.

However, with the singer’s name not present on the guest list, we suggest that fans should not get their hopes up to avoid disappointment.
