Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has relied heavily on 17-year-old Lewis Miley this season, and now he could turn to another Toon teenager.

A lot of Newcastle United’s academy players have been given senior minutes this season, largely because of the club’s injury problems. Eddie Howe has given debuts to the likes of Amadou Diallo, Alex Murphy, Ben Parkinson, Joe White and Michael Ndiweni.

Elsewhere, Lewis Miley has been a mainstay in the Newcastle starting XI. He has excelled in both the Premier League and Champions League, and is going to have an incredible career at St James’ Park.

That is what the club want. They want and needs players to rise through the academy, which is why there has been a renewed focus towards bringing in the best young talent.

One player who has arrived is Trevan Sanusi. The 16-year-old is a winger, and he joined the club from Birmingham City last year.

The teenager has already done well at youth level, and has reportedly caught the eye of Eddie Howe.

Eddie Howe is a big fan of Newcastle teenager Trevan Sanusi

That is according to the Chronicle, who state that Trevan Sanusi has impressed Eddie Howe with his ability.

They claim that the youngster has already trained with the Newcastle first-team, and that there is a chance that he could actually make his senior debut before the current season comes to an end.

That would be a huge shock, but a real testament to Sanusi’s ability. He looks like a really exciting player, and someone who the fans are going to love in the coming years.

Sanusi is a bit of a maverick. He is a fantastic dribbler, which has led to comparisons to former Toon attacker Allan Saint-Maximin.

It is exciting to hear that he has already caught Howe’s attention, and that should result in him rising through the ranks on Tyneside. And he could end up saving the club millions of pounds if he eventually proves himself to be a star in the Premier League.

Newcastle have a lot of exciting youngsters right now, and Sanusi is certainly one of them.
