Jason Tindall believes that Newcastle United have an ‘exceptional’ teenager in their ranks, and he is someone who has committed his long-term future to the club.
It was announced earlier this week that Lewis Miley had signed a long-term contract with Newcastle United, much to the delight of some his teammates.
The 17-year-old has been rewarded with a new deal after an incredible few months in the first-team, coming into the Newcastle midfield amid the ongoing injury crisis.
Miley got given a chance to impress, and he seized it with both hands. He is a sensational footballer with a huge amount of potential, and Jason Tindall is delighted that he is staying at St James’ Park for the foreseeable future.
Jason Tindall full of praise for ‘exceptional’ Lewis Miley
With Eddie Howe suffering from illness, Tindall has spoke to the media ahead of Newcastle’s game against Luton Town. He was asked about Miley following confirmation of his contract extension.
“He’s an exceptional talent,” he said.
“At 17, to do what he has done this season, coming into the team and performing as well as he has – it’s been a great achievement for him.
“We’re delighted Lewy Miley has signed a long-term contract.”

Newcastle need more players to follow in Miley’s footsteps
What Miley has achieved this season has been incredible, and he continued his strong form at Villa Park.
The youngster was outstanding on the left of Newcastle’s midfield three, combining brilliantly with Anthony Gordon in the first half and causing Villa real problems.
The Magpies have got an absolute superstar in Miley, and they will hope that more youngsters follow in his footsteps. We saw the club invest in Alfie Harrison on transfer deadline day, while Travis Hernes has been on the bench for our past two games.
In the coming years, Newcastle will look to bring more of their youth players up to senior level, particularly as that is something that will lift the stress off of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.
Miley is one of our own, and he has helped ease the pain of not signing a midfielder during the January transfer window. He is one for the future of Newcastle United, but he is also more than capable of shining in the present too.
It has been fantastic to witness his emergence, and long may it continue.
