Simon Jordan is in total agreement with Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer, who commented on Alexander Isak’s decision to look for a move elsewhere.
The news came as a complete shock to many on Thursday afternoon. After months of speculation and constant word that he was not for sale, Alexander Isak informed Newcastle United that he wants to explore his options this summer.
Isak scored 23 Premier League goals last season and became the first Newcastle player to score 20 goals in consecutive Premier League seasons, something club legend Alan Shearer could not do despite 10 memorable years on Tyneside.
Liverpool are seriously interested in Isak, and could table a substantial bid for the Sweden international if they are able to make player sales. Even if they do not pursue a deal, they have done enough to unsettle the 25-year-old and leave his future in doubt for the rest of his time on Tyneside.
Geordie Boot Boys understand that Al Hilal are interested in Isak and are ready to make an offer which would break the British transfer record. However, Newcastle are looking for at least £150million for their star striker.
Shearer commented elsewhere on Thursday about how Isak is not bigger than the club, and if a club can put up £150million-plus for him, then he should leave. In response, pundit Simon Jordan has made his own claim about Isak.

Simon Jordan says Eddie Howe should sell Alexander Isak this summer
Jordan is not surprised that Isak wants to leave Newcastle. He claims he predicted this drama was going to occur months ago.
It remains to be seen whether Isak will really leave Newcastle this summer, but the club is working on finding a replacement in the meantime.
Newcastle will certainly be quids in if they sell Isak, meaning they could finally stamp their authority on the transfer market after failing to secure their top targets. That is the same feeling for Jordan, who has also agreed with Shearer’s claims.
“I’m with Shearer on the Isak argument,” Jordan said on TalkSPORT.
“If people want to buy him, first of all, Newcastle name the price and the terms, conditions and financing around the deal. No one’s bigger than one football club. Eddie Howe won’t want somebody in the dressing room who’s not 100% committed. With Shearer’s analysis of if they get £150m, sell him – I don’t disagree with that.
“Newcastle’s a bigger football club than Isak and they will have an opportunity to redeploy that money and it may well be that it builds a better squad than just one individual.”
Who Newcastle United want to sign if Alexander Isak is sold
This transfer saga is sure to last the whole summer, and it remains to be seen if Isak will even be a part of Newcastle’s first-team squad when the 2025/26 Premier League season kicks off.
Isak is not on Newcastle’s tour of Asia and will likely not play in the St James’ Park friendlies against Espanyol or Atletico Madrid.

If Isak is sold, Newcastle have targets in the pipeline. Geordie Boot Boys understand that Newcastle are big admirers of Benjamin Sesko and Lois Openda, both of RB Leipzig. Reports suggest Newcastle are ready to hold talks with Sesko, but a move would be dependent on whether Isak leaves.
Elsewhere, Newcastle are in discussions with Brentford striker Yoane Wissa. The Magpies are hoping to strike a deal in the region of £35million for the 28-year-old after a bid of £25million was rejected earlier this week.
Newcastle will hope to get at least one of these deals done before they return from Asia.
