Alexander Isak has shocked Newcastle United by stating his intention to leave the club amid serious interest from Liverpool.
It has been a miserable day for Newcastle United fans, who have now been informed of more bad news regarding their star striker.
After missing Newcastle United’s defeat to Celtic last weekend, it has been confirmed that Alexander Isak will not travel to Asia for their pre-season tour.
The reasoning for his omission was claimed to be due to a thigh problem, with Newcastle confirming on social media that he would not be available for games against Arsenal, a K-League XI and Tottenham Hotspur.
Now, Craig Hope of the Daily Mail has revealed that Isak has informed Newcastle of his intention to leave the club this summer. Liverpool are seriously interested in Isak, and made an informal enquiry for him earlier this month.
Newcastle are adamant that Isak is not for sale, but they may be forced into a decision they are very reluctant to make after the new reports. With the bombshell news out, Newcastle fans have taken to social media to share their views.

Newcastle United fans in complete shock at Alexander Isak transfer request
Everything that has come before this all appears to make sense now. Isak has barely been seen since returning for pre-season training and is now keen to move away this summer.
Newcastle must now come to a snap decision on what they want to do with him this summer, and who they bring in as his potential replacement.
Taking to the social media platform X, Newcastle fans are in complete disbelief.
“I feel sick.” said one Newcastle fan, while another added: “What are we doing man.”
This Newcastle fan questioned Isak’s attitude, saying: “Such a shame and to be honest, I didn’t have Isak down as a player who would throw his toys out the pram to get a move… but if he doesn’t want to be here, get rid.”
“If true sell him but not for a penny less than what we value him for I don’t want players who don’t want to play for us.” said this upset Newcastle fan.
Another fan added: “Sell him quickly and sort the mess out. Can’t keep this circus going man. Going to get f—— relegated at this rate.”
Finally, this Newcastle fan said: “Biggest transfer window in years to one of the worst.”

Newcastle United’s dream transfer window is starting to become a nightmare
In May, Newcastle had just confirmed qualification for the Champions League and were celebrating a historic Carabao Cup win. It is a complete shock that the transfer window has turned out the way it has so far.
Bruno Guimaraes called for Newcastle to make transfers, but as it stands, Anthony Elanga is the only major arrival on Tyneside.t
A lot of work still needs to be done this summer, and time is running out for it to be done. Newcastle need a new striker, centre-back and goalkeeper before even thinking about backup options for other positions.
Selling Isak would mean Newcastle would need to sign a top-quality striker rather than the likes of Yoane Wissa who is currently in talks. With a busy 2025/26 season on the horizon, Newcastle are struggling to stamp their authority when it matters most.
