Newcastle United fans have named their record price for Liverpool to sign Alexander Isak

Newcastle United fans have no appetite to see Alexander Isak join Liverpool.

It has been suggested that Liverpool could make a huge offer for Isak, as they attempt to continue their summer splurge. They have already signed Jeremie Frimpong, talks with Milos Kerkez are advancing, and Florian Wirtz is set to become their most expensive signing ever.

If they have it their way, Wirtz might not be Liverpool’s record holder for long. While Newcastle insist Isak is not for sale, the Reds could be set to at least test the water.

Newcastle United fans send Isak price tag message to Liverpool

PIF chief and Toon chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan wants Isak to stay at Newcastle, while supporters have made it clear that the 25-year-old is going to cost a lot more than Liverpool think.

That is the consensus on X (formerly known as Twitter), with Newcastle United fans reminding Liverpool that Isak is worth more than £150million.

“If Wirtz is worth €150m then Isak is way over €200m,” wrote one fan.

Another Newcastle United fan added: “Doubt Isak goes to Liverpool. But if he does though no less than 200million + bonuses. We don’t have to sell. We have Champions League football and he has three years left on his contract.”

“Isak is worth AT LEAST £150m,” proclaimed a third Toon fan.

This supporter noted: “This Isak crack is horrific. Even if club do sell it will be in excess of £150m. Look at the price for Caicedo, Wirtz, Fernandez etc. Just can’t see it happening.”

“I can’t see it but if we sell Isak to Liverpool for anything less then 150 million guaranteed… I’m done with football,” added another Newcastle fan.

Finally, a sixth member of the Toon Army wrote: “Isak doesn’t go for less than £150m.”

Newcastle United’s most expensive outgoing transfer

Newcastle United fans have made it clear that they want a British record fee to sell Isak. That is the only way they can envision him leaving St James’ Park.

If the worst does happen and Newcastle United do sell him, it would not take much for him to become the most lucrative outgoing transfer in the club’s history. That honour currently belongs to Elliot Anderson and Andy Carroll.

The former left the Magpies last summer to join Nottingham Forest for £35million. It was a deal that Newcastle did not want to do, but they were forced to cash in on someone or fail to comply with PSR. Newcastle reluctantly sold Anderson for a record fee, with the midfielder going on to thrive at the City Ground.

The latter also left St James’ Park for £35million, with Carroll joining Liverpool in January 2011. He became their number nine, but failed to live up to the hype on Merseyside.

Liverpool will have higher hopes for Isak if they can strike a deal, but any transfer could be worth four times what Carroll cost 14 years ago.
