Newcastle United fans are hoping for a busy January transfer window to make up for summer failings.
After a shaky start to the season, the Magpies are in red-hot form having won their last six games in all competitions.
Newcastle’s form has seen them rise up to fifth in the Premier League table, just a point off the Champions League spots.

Sporting director Paul Mitchell has his transfer strategy in place which he will be keen to implement this window. Eddie Howe wants numerous positions in January to keep Newcastle’s chances of returning to European football high.
With Mitchell working hard on arrivals, here are the latest rumours regarding Newcastle’s potential signings.

Kyle Fitzgerald to join Newcastle in January
Newcastle wants to continue their youth recruitment drive, they’ve found another talent to add to their growing list.
17-year-old Kyle Fitzgerald impressed during his trial at the club prompting Newcastle to sign him up from Galway United.
Fitzgerald will join Newcastle on January 28, his 18th birthday. He will sign his first professional contract with the Magpies before linking up with Newcastle’s under-21s.

AC Milan join Newcastle in race for Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is out of contract at the end of the season. Howe wants a striker so Mitchell could revisit a deal which nearly materialised in the summer before Newcastle rejected Calvert-Lewin’s demands.
AC Milan wants to beat Newcastle to Calvert-Lewin who has made 19 Premier League appearances this season. Milan are set to hold pre-contract discussions with the England international – putting the ball firmly in their court.
The 27-year-old has struggled to find the net this season as Everton sit one point off the relegation zone.

Newcastle eyeing move for Kevin Danso
Although not a priority, Newcastle are looking at signing a central defender. Both Fabian Schar and Jamaal Lascelles’ contracts are expiring in the summer – with Schar 33 and Lascelles 31, Mitchell wants Howe to have their replacements lined up.
Newcastle are battling several clubs for Danso who is seen as the alternative if they fail to sign his teammate Abdukodir Khusanov.
The Austrian has experience playing in England, he came through the ranks at MK Dons before moving to Germany in 2014. He also had a loan stint at Southampton in the 2019/20 season.
Danso would cost Newcastle between £20-25million in January.
