Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak stance could soon be put to the test by Liverpool.
It is no secret that Liverpool want to buy Alexander Isak from Newcastle United, despite already bringing in the likes Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz.
The 25-year-old is the next player they want, with Liverpool set to bid for Isak and test the Magpies’ resolve.
Newcastle do not want to sell Isak, but that could change if the Reds put enough money on the table.

Liverpool sell Luis Diaz to receive Alexander Isak cash injection
With that in mind, Arne Slot has just received a financial boost that could help fund Liverpool’s pursuit of Isak.
It has been confirmed that Liverpool have sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich. The Colombian winger is officially a Bayern Munich player after spending three-and-a-half seasons on Merseyside.
Liverpool are receiving £65million for Diaz, which will go a long way towards their dream of signing Isak from Newcastle United.
He is going to cost a British record fee, with Newcastle not planning to sell the Sweden international for anything less than £150million.
Liverpool are prepared to offer more than £120million, but how much more will dictate Newcastle’s decision. While a move away for Isak feels likely, it has to be on Newcastle United’s terms.
That is even more true now Newcastle know Liverpool have even more money to spend. If they are so desperate for Isak, pay what he is worth.
What Newcastle United must do before selling Alexander Isak
The one thing Newcastle United must do before selling Isak, to Liverpool or anyone else, is secure a replacement.
Eddie Howe cannot be left shortchanged. He needs to be provided with an Isak replacement before the Swede is allowed to leave.
Who that is remains to be seen, with Newcastle targeting Benjamin Sesko. The 22-year-old would be an excellent addition to the Newcastle United squad, as they attempt to broker a deal with the player’s representatives and RB Leipzig.
Even if Sesko does arrive, Newcastle need another striker to replace Callum Wilson. Newcastle want Yoane Wissa, but that deal has not moved at the speed Toon fans were hoping.
