Newcastle United fans have reacted to the news that Alexander Isak is refusing to play for the club again and is desperate for a move away this summer.

After starring in such a memorable season, many have been left wondering how the situation with Alexander Isak has got so bad.

Newcastle United have lived up to Isak’s demands, with the striker wanting Champions League football before sitting down for new contract negotiations. However, a new deal looks a long way off this summer, as Isak is exploring his options away from Newcastle this summer.

The 25-year-old is subject to serious interest from Liverpool, who have already had a bid of £110million rejected this summer. Isak has not trained with Newcastle’s first-team squad since July, with the striker turning up to the training ground after hours to keep his fitness up.

Eddie Howe admitted Isak is not ready to be integrated back in at Newcastle, so he is almost certain not to be part of the opening game of the Premier League season against Aston Villa.

With reports of Isak refusing to train with Newcastle, fans have told Howe exactly what to do with him.

Newcastle United fans think Alexander Isak has to be sold this summer

In a recent interview, Howe suggested that Isak has acted ‘poorly‘ amid questions around his future, but still hopes he can reintegrate him into the squad sooner rather than later. The Sweden international is a player with so much quality, so fans are understandably disappointed at how his stance is panning out.

After learning that Isak sees his Newcastle career as over, fans have flocked to social media to share their views.

“Disgraceful behaviour paying his wages and made him the player he is.” said one fan, while another added: “Just an overpaid kid throwing a tantrum now. Make him train with the U21s. Suspend wages.”

This Newcastle fan referred to Liverpool’s interest in Isak, saying: “Sell him to anyone but Liverpool. Even if it commands a lesser fee.”

“What a charmer….. put in a transfer request then mate if you’re so desperate to go. Or wait til someone pays the going rate for you.” said this disappointed Newcastle fan.

Another fan added: “It’s one thing to want to leave, but to get to the point where you refuse to even speak to your teammates of three years is the most bizarre thing I’ve seen in a while.”

Finally, this Newcastle fan said: “Enjoy the U21s. I’d fine him too until he comes around. His attitude is a disgrace, want him gone like.”

What Alexander Isak must do amid Newcastle United exit speculation

When news of his intent to leave first broke in July, Newcastle fans were shocked with Isak. But as reports have surfaced over the weeks, his exit looks more like a probability, rather than a possibility.

Fans are right to be upset and let down by Isak, who has previously shared his love for Newcastle and desire to become a legend over the years. His reputation is in tatters on Tyneside, and a clean break seems like the best solution for both parties at this point in time.

All of the speculation surrounding Isak has been through the media, with no official comment from him. The dignified thing to do would be for Isak to take to social media and settle the score once and for all.

He can write whether he wants to leave Newcastle, or if he is happy to stay. With that, fans will get complete clarity on the situation.
