The goals have returned for Newcastle United – at least for now.
Indeed, Newcastle went into the international break having put three past Nottingham Forest, their highest tally in one game so far this season.
After a difficult start, star striker Alexander Isak has found form, scoring in four consecutive matches to underline the quality Eddie Howe has constantly been reminding people the Sweden star boasts.
Harvey Barnes remains a prolific option off the bench too, while there is hope Callum Wilson will return to the squad for the clash at home with West Ham after the break.
At their best, Howe’s side are full of goals. In fact, only Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal scored more Premier League goals than Newcastle last season (85).
Still, longer-term, the club are seemingly looking to consider strengthening what they have up front.
Wilson has been tipped to leave the club upon the expiration of his contract this season and a new forward of some description is said to be on the agenda for the January transfer window.
One of the names linked as a potential option for Newcastle is Lille forward Jonathan David, who has been hailed as a “superstar” by international teammate Jonathan Osorio.
There, however, could be a complication.
Fulham could look to hijack Jonathan David transfer amid Newcastle interest
Newcastle are said to admire the Canadian international but, according to GIVEMESPORT, another Premier League club are in fact holding talks.

They suggest Fulham are in discussions with some of the striker’s intermediaries and could even look to make a move in January, when the 24-year-old will be able to sign a pre-contract with a team outside of France.
Jonathan David’ wage demands and salary expectations
Given his dwindling contractual status, David will likely be in demand this summer.
As such, he’s in a position to negotiate a pretty significant contract considering the fact a suitor will not have to pay a transfer fee if he sees out his contract with Lille.
Italian outlet TuttoJuve recently suggested he’d be looking for around £100k-per-week.
