Another Newcastle United game has passed without Callum Wilson playing, as his injury absence continues.
The 32-year-old is yet to play for Newcastle United this season, with the striker suffering from a back injury followed by a hamstring problem.
It has been an extremely frustrating season for Callum Wilson, and his injury absence looks set to continue. Ahead of the game against Arsenal, Howe confirmed that Wilson would probably be absent until after the international break. That means he will miss Sunday’s game against Nottingham Forest.
After that, there is a two week break. Then Newcastle United are at home to West Ham United on November 25th. That game is on a Monday night, which gives Wilson even longer to recover.

Callum Wilson eyeing up Newcastle return vs West Ham
While Newcastle United were taking on Arsenal at St James’ Park on Saturday, Wilson was in Doha, Qatar.
Wilson travelled to Doha to continue his recovery, as he edges closer towards making his comeback from injury.
According to the Chronicle, Wilson watched Newcastle’s game against Arsenal in Doha with Toon fans, and told them that he will be fit in time to be involved in the West Ham match towards the end of November.
Perfect fixture for Wilson to make his Newcastle comeback
Once the Nottingham Forest game has been and gone, Wilson will have missed 14 consecutive Newcastle United fixtures.
However, it does not look like that number will get any bigger, as he eyes up a return against West Ham following the upcoming international break.
That is the perfect fixture for Wilson to return, as he has an outstanding record against the Hammers. He has played against them 14 times in his career, scoring 12 goals in the process. Five of those goals have came in a Newcastle shirt, and he will be desperate to add to that tally on November 25th.
| Club Callum Wilson has played against | Number of appearances | Goals |
| West Ham United | 14 | 12 |
| Everton | 10 | 8 |
| Burnley | 12 | 7 |
| Huddersfield | 6 | 7 |
Wilson has scored more goals against West Ham than any other club, and will hope to extend that record very soon.
For that to happen, he needs to stay true to his word and be fit enough to feature at St James’ Park at the end of this month.
Even if Wilson is fit, he will likely have to have an impact off the bench, as there is no way he will start ahead of Alexander Isak.
