Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer transfer window.
The Magpies are looking to sign a striker in the summer transfer window to give Alexander Isak some much-needed rest when they play in Europe next season.
Newcastle United qualified for the Conference League thanks to their Carabao Cup win in March, but it is common knowledge that Eddie Howe and his players want much more than Europe’s third-string competition.
As it stands, Newcastle are in a good position to qualify for the Champions League, something which will see them become more of a powerhouse in the summer transfer window.
Calvert-Lewin was linked to Newcastle during the January transfer window alongside clubs in Serie A who were able to make contact with him due to his contract expiring at the end of the season. As it stands, the 28-year-old will become a free agent in the summer, having not yet finalised plans for his future.
With Newcastle set to enter negotiations, a new transfer report has shared how Calvert-Lewin feels about moving to the North East from Everton.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s stance on joining Newcastle United
Newcastle striker Callum Wilson’s contract is up at the end of the season, and there is no sign that Howe wants to keep the 33-year-old on. His exit leaves just Isak and William Osula as the only natural strikers in Newcastle’s first team.
Osula is not trusted by Howe yet, meaning Isak is set to fend for himself next season as a sole striker.
Reports in January suggested Newcastle wanted Calvert-Lewin to replace Wilson this summer. Now, according to the Chronicle, the Magpies are set to make a move at the end of the season.
The report states that Calvert-Lewin has recently switched agent and was actually up for joining Newcastle before the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign when the club was looking for ways to recoup their losses to avoid a PSR points deduction for the season.

Howe is believed to be a fan of Calvert-Lewin and will be one of several options to replace Wilson this summer.
The report also states that the England international is open to a move to Newcastle, and his representatives have even been in touch with the club to see if they are still interested in bringing him in this summer.
Calvert-Lewin would want £100,000-a-week from Newcastle, but that is believed to be something the club can afford to pay, especially with Wilson set to depart.

Newcastle United scouting Ligue 1 star set to become a free agent
With Newcastle having their sights set on signing a new striker in the summer transfer window, sporting director Paul Mitchell is looking far and wide to find the best targets for Europe next season.
His search has taken him to Lille striker Jonathan David, who is set to leave the Ligue 1 side on a free at the end of the season in pursuit of a move further afield.
Newcastle want David and are willing to give him what he wants to move to Tyneside.
The feeling is that the Magpies must qualify for the Champions League to persuade him to join, and that now looks much more likely thanks to three wins in their last three Premier League games.
Recent reports have claimed that Newcastle hope Isak’s presence will help lure David to the club. The Swede could form a formidable partnership with the Canadian if he joined.
