Newcastle United will aim to end their trophy drought by winning the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

The Magpies face Liverpool at Wembley, as they target their first piece of silverware since 1969.

Eddie Howe’s side will not go into the game as favourites, but Newcastle’s confidence has been boosted since Monday night’s win over West Ham.

The Newcastle United players will believe they can be victorious, while the Toon Army are travelling to London with hope.

But what will the winners of the 2025 Carabao Cup final get? Well, there are two prizes on the line – as well as the trophy itself.

Whether Newcastle United win the Carabao Cup or are runners-up, they will receive some prize money.

If the Magpies beat Liverpool at Wembley, they will receive £100,000 in prize money.

If Howe’s side lose, they will receive £50,000.

While winning the Carabao Cup would mean everything to the Newcastle United players, staff and fans, it certainly is not a money-spinner!

What else Newcastle United will win if they lift the Carabao Cup

As well as a trophy and £100,000, winning the Carabao Cup would qualify Newcastle United for the playoff stage of the 2025/26 UEFA Conference League.

It would mean a return to Europe for the Magpies, after a year-long absence.

Based on the prize money from this year’s Conference League, being in the playoff stage would give Newcastle an additional £630,000 – with the potential to go further in the competition.

While Newcastle are desperate to be back in Europe, their aim is to be in the Champions League. That is where they need to be to keep the likes of Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes happy, as they are world class players who should be competing in European football’s top competition.

Hopefully Newcastle can still qualify for the Champions League, but supporters will definitely be getting their passports ready no matter what if they win the 2025 Carabao Cup.
