Newcastle United will parade the Carabao Cup trophy with supporters on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier this month, Newcastle United ended a 70-year wait for a major domestic trophy by winning the Carabao Cup.
Eddie Howe’s tactical masterplan worked as Newcastle beat Liverpool 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final, with even that scoreline not providing an accurate reflection of the game.
Indeed, Howe’s side really could and should have won by a bigger margin, such was the extent of their dominance.
Shortly after the events of Sunday March 16 at Wembley, however, most of the Newcastle United squad had to jet off on international duty.
Now, the players will finally get to celebrate with their supporters. Newcastle have confirmed an open top bus parade from St James’ Park to the Town Moor, where there will be a further celebration with Howe and the players.
Alan Shearer, Ant and Dec and Bob Moncur are among the confirmed guests, although there will likely be a notable absence.
Famous fan and music star Sam Fender is not expected to play.

Why Sam Fender isn’t playing at Newcastle United’s Carabao Cup celebrations
According to The Daily Telegraph, local hero Fender was asked to perform at the Town Moor but is heavily expected not to feature.
The musician has only just finished a tour of Europe and is set to depart on another across North America in the coming days. Indeed, his first gig is scheduled for Saturday April 5 in Vancouver, Canada. That would likely explain his absence.
There were rumours Fender would make a surprise appearance, but he has not been confirmed in any of the pre-event communications.

Newcastle United plan spectacular surprise for Carabao Cup party on Town Moor
There is, however, a ‘Spectacular Surprise’ planned for 7.30pm GMT on Saturday, so perhaps there is a small chance the club could pull something out of the bag.
Still, at this stage, Sonny Tennet, Ellie Scougall, The Belta Reivers and Paige Temperley have been confirmed as the entertainers for the event.
While a shame Fender isn’t there to add further stardust to proceedings, there’s a huge amount of Geordie royalty there anyway.
