Lewis Miley will never forget the moment he scored his first ever goal for Newcastle United.

He opened the scoring on Saturday, giving Newcastle the lead against Fulham on what looked like it was going to be a frustrating afternoon for the Magpies.

But the 17-year-old had the composure to make it 1-0 to Newcastle, as he became the youngest player ever to score for the club in the Premier League.

It was a smart finish and a beautiful moment, as the Toon players wildly celebrated with the latest talent to emerge from the club’s academy.

The glee in Miley’s face was brilliant to see, then Anthony Gordon made sure that the teenager soaked it all in before the game resumed.

The club have released their match-cam footage from Saturday’s 3-0 win over Fulham, and the Miley celebrations are fantastic. Everyone is absolutely buzzing for him, which is a testament to the impact that he has had since coming into the side.

As the celebrations are coming to an end, Anthony Gordon does something that Miley will no doubt appreciate in years to come.

With the Newcastle players beginning to stream back to their own half, Gordon pushes Miley back towards the touchline, ensuring he took in all of the adulation he was receiving from the Toon Army.

It was his big moment, and Gordon made sure he took it.

Considering Gordon is just 22-years-old himself, it is great to see him show that kind of class and maturity.

Newcastle have done this to Livramento and Tonali as well

It is not the first time we have seen something like this happen this season. We also witnessed it after the 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Tino Livramento was spectacular that night, leading to cries of ‘Tino, Tino, Tino’ from the travelling fans. That led to Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier pushing the defender to the front of the pack, as he got his moment in the sun.

There was also the touching tribute to Sandro Tonali, as he led the team’s lap of appreciation following the win over Crystal Palace back in October.

Moments like these sum up the wonderful team spirit at Newcastle United, with Lewis Miley the latest Toon player to be given his moment in front of the supporters.
