Lewis Miley has sent a message to Newcastle United fans after scoring his first ever goal for the club against Fulham yesterday afternoon.
Newcastle had struggled to break down Fulham who were sitting very deep after being reduced to 10 men, but it was Miley’s effort that broke the deadlock and secured the three points.
Miley took to Instagram to celebrate his first ever goal for Newcastle’s first team in what was a historic day for the teenager and the club.
Miley made history with his goal against Fulham
There was a nervous feeling around St James’ Park as Newcastle headed into half-time with an extra man and dominating possession, but they had yet to really challenge Bernd Leno in Fulham’s goal.
Newcastle’s star man Bruno Guimaraes then took it upon himself to drag the team up the pitch and into the box with a brilliant driving run before setting up Miley who still had a lot of work to do but slotted it into the bottom corner to take the lead.
With his goal, Miley became the youngest ever goalscorer for Newcastle in the Premier League and has topped off a string of incredible performances in the last month.
Everyone at the club was overjoyed for the young man and knows that this is only the beginning of his journey at Newcastle.
On Instagram, Miley said: “YES!! What a feeling to score my first goal at St James’ park 🤩✨”

Newcastle have got a real star on their hands
Naturally Eddie Howe will feel frustrated at the number of injuries he has had to deal with at Newcastle, but the emergence of Miley is one positive that he can take from this whole crisis.
It’s been a long time since Newcastle produced a young talent with Miley’s abilities and there is honestly no telling how far he could go given how impressive he already is both technically and mentally.
With the right environment around him there’s nothing stopping the teenager from playing at the heart of Newcastle’s midfield for the next 10-15 years, but Howe won’t want to put too much pressure on him so early on in his career.
For now, we can all just enjoy watching an incredible talent develop right in front of our eyes and hope to see more brilliant displays like the one against Fulham.
