Lewis Hall has been sensational for Newcastle United since completing a permanent move in the summer.

Left-back Lewis Hall joined Newcastle United for £28m after impressing Toon boss Eddie Howe in his loan spell the season before.

During his loan spell, Hall played in Newcastle’s Champions League campaign where they were knocked out in the group stages. He found game time hard to come by at times but cemented his place in Howe’s starting XI towards the end of the season.

This season, Hall has come leaps and bounds and has continued where he left off at Newcastle. So far this season, Hall has featured in every Premier League game for Newcastle and bagged four assists.

The 20-year-old has impressed many this season including fans of other clubs. Arsenal fans want to sign Hall after his performance against them in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Hall’s signing was a ‘shock’ at Newcastle. Club figures could not believe Chelsea were willing to let him leave so easily.

Newcastle fans have taken a big liking to Hall. One gesture from them is thought to have moved a member of his family to tears.

Newcastle fans chant to Lewis Hall

This season, fans have developed a chant for Hall as a result of his great performances. It is modelled on the song American Boy by Estelle.

“I really want to, get Europe with you, you’re my super Lewis Hall.” fans will be dreaming of a return to Europe after narrowly missing out last season.

The Magpies currently sit fifth in the Premier League table which could be enough to qualify for the Champions League if England finishes in the top two of the UEFA coefficient table.

According to the Daily Mail, Hall’s family were present at Newcastle’s win against Southampton. They were so moved by the chant – Hall’s mother was even reduced to tears by the recognition and praise for the defender.

Hall’s form earned him a first-ever England call-up in November, making his debut away to Greece. He linked up with Newcastle duo Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon in the Three Lions’ win against Ireland at Wembley Stadium a few days later.

Lewis Hall could be Newcastle United’s long-term left-back

At just 20 years old, the sky is certainly the limit for Hall. He has come leaps and bounds since completing a permanent move in the summer and Howe knows that.

Behind the scenes, Howe and Newcastle staff had told Hall to integrate with his teammates and make himself a valued member of the squad.

He has done exactly that – after a shaky start to the season he has proven why he is worth the £28m Newcastle paid for him.

With the Premier League season past the midway point, fans and Newcastle figures alike will hope that Hall can keep his fantastic run of form up to help the Magpies return to Europe.
