The remarkable rise of Lewis Hall at Newcastle United shows no signs of slowing down.

The 20-year-old is getting better week after week, and is now a guaranteed starter for Newcastle United.

Lewis Hall was not good enough at the start of his Newcastle career. He has admitted that himself.

But now the left-back is more than good enough for the Magpies. In fact, Hall is even being tipped for an England callup.

Hall was outstanding against Arsenal on Saturday, as he kept Bukayo Saka at bay. That is not an easy task, although Hall will admit that he got help from Joelinton and Joe Willock.

But Hall deserves all the credit coming his way. It is fantastic to see him playing so well, after enduring such a tough start to life at St James’ Park.

At the beginning of Hall’s Newcastle career, it was difficult to envision him reaching the standard he is at right now – especially within such a short space of time.

Newcastle obviously brought Hall in for his potential, but he was going to have to improve a lot to be worth £28million.

When he first arrived, it was clear he was well below the standard required. That presented Eddie Howe and his coaching staff with a challenge, but they could only do so much.

According to the Times, Hall’s need for improvement was so grand that Howe and the Newcastle coaching team had to put it on the youngster himself to integrate with his new teammates and become a valued member of the squad.

Hall was perhaps forced to go out of his comfort zone, and is now reaping the rewards.

Newcastle United value Lewis Hall now

When Hall arrived, he appeared shy. His interviews could often be a difficult watch, while he did not seem to have enough confidence in himself whenever he stepped on the pitch.

But the confidence is there now, and his Newcastle United teammates obviously value him.

Hall is a key component for the Magpies, with his quality on the ball adding an extra dimension to this team. He is trusted with possession in key areas. There is never any reluctance to give him the ball in fear of what he might do with it.

Newcastle have faith in Hall. And he has earned that faith with the hard work he has put in behind the scenes.

It is paying off in a big way right now, and the exciting thing is that he can still get so much better. Hall is only 20-years-old, and proving what a fantastic investment he was at £28million.
