The sheer amount of speculation regarding Alexander Isak’s future at Newcastle United is hugely frustrating to read.
Isak is one of the best forwards in world football and Newcastle United would be foolish to sell him.
Indeed, there’s also absolutely no suggestion the 25-year-old is looking to leave St James’ Park. Isak is Yasir Al-Rumayyan’s favourite player, while the Newcastle chairman has told the club they cannot sell Isak this summer.
Still, that’s done little to stop the links away on an almost constant basis. Liverpool are interested in Isak but signing him looks frankly impossible right now.
Newcastle want at least £150million for Isak and even that may not be enough. Their stance is such that even Rio Ferdinand has suggested signing him would be almost impossible for the Premier League champions.

The pundit is perhaps not the most popular figure on Tyneside.
In 2021, Ferdinand told the Newcastle fans to buy the club from Mike Ashley themselves if they were that unhappy about his ownership.
Still, the former Manchester United and England defender admitted he doubted Liverpool would be able to afford Isak this summer.
In a discussion about the striker on his ‘Vibe with Five’ podcast, Ferdinand said: “I don’t know if Liverpool have got the capacity financially.”
How Liverpool actually feel about signing Alexander Isak
It seems the Anfield giants are realistic about their chances of landing the striker this summer.
Liverpool know their chances of signing Isak are slim, even despite rating him as one of the best forwards in the world right now.
It should again be stressed that Isak has shown no outward indication that he actually wants to leave Newcastle. Even if Liverpool could put an offer together, there is absolutely no suggestion the striker would accept it.
Isak, right now at least, looks destined to stay at Newcastle. It’s about time people started realising that.
