Alexander Isak’s upturn in form has only resulted in more speculation of him leaving Newcastle United.

December has been a great month for Newcastle United, with the Magpies currently on a four-game winning streak after the emphatic 3-0 win over Aston Villa at St James’ Park.

Next up is a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, and a win would put the Magpies on the brink of the top four.

There is a great mood around Newcastle at the moment, but that hasn’t stopped the club’s best players being linked with a move away from Tyneside in 2025, including Alexander Isak.

Isak continued his incredible scoring run against Villa meaning he has now scored seven in his last five Premier League matches. Isak could still match Alan Shearer’s record with a stellar showing at Old Trafford.

Newcastle United ‘bewildered’ by Alexander Isak rumours

With 12 goals in 19 games this season, there is no denying that Isak is Newcastle’s most valuable player, and there is plenty of interest in his signature.

Arsenal have been linked with Isak, while Chelsea also monitored him over the summer. However, Newcastle fought off interest and they intend to do the same in 2025.

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle have been “bewildered” by the transfer speculation, especially the constant links to Arsenal.

The report adds that people within St James’ Park believe the narrative that Isak needs to leave Newcastle is disrespectful and designed to unsettle the player.

Newcastle United stance on selling Alexander Isak

Newcastle think Isak can get even better and have placed a whopping £150m price tag on him for 2025.

A similar price tag was cited when clubs showed an interest in Isak over the summer.

After the win over Villa, Howe admitted he wouldn’t swap Isak for any player in the world after being blown away by his “unbelievable quality”.

Newcastle ideally want to hand Isak a new contract but are working towards meeting his demands.

Isak wants to qualify for Europe in order to sign a new deal, and after a good run of form, Newcastle are on track to achieve that goal. Contract talks are expected to resume in the summer.
