Paul Mitchell is expected to deliver for Newcastle United in an important summer transfer window.
Fans will rejoice at the fact that the summer looks set to be one where Newcastle United can spend more freely after three windows without a meaningful first-team addition.
The January transfer window saw the Magpies sell two useful squad players without replacing them, leaving Toon boss Eddie Howe with the incredibly tough task of qualifying for the Champions League with a depleted squad. It currently looks unlikely, but Howe should receive bundles of praise if he gets Newcastle back into the top four this season.

The right-wing has been a problem area throughout Howe’s time at the club – a lack of quality in the position has been frustrating for fans to see. It looked like Newcastle had a solution to the problems in Yankuba Minteh who impressed in his loan spell at Feyenoord last season. But PSR meant that Newcastle had to sell Minteh to avoid a points deduction.
In January, Newcastle sold Miguel Almiron, a longstanding member of the team and someone who could be relied upon whenever Jacob Murphy was not available.
Newcastle will prioritise a winger in the summer, and the fans know exactly who they want to sign after some brilliant footage has surfaced.

Newcastle fans want to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford
Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo has been fantastic this season, scoring 15 goals and bagging five assists in the Premier League.
His form throughout the campaign has caught Newcastle’s eye – the Cameroonian showed his devastating abilities against the Magpies at the Gtech Community Stadium in December when he scored and bagged an assist in a 4-2 win against Howe’s side.
Reports suggest that Mbeumo is Newcastle’s ‘dream’ signing, and after seeing him score a sensational goal against Leicester on Friday night the fans are even more eager for Paul Mitchell to sign him, taking to X to voice their pleas.
He’s the right winger for me. Pay the cash,” said one fan. While another added: “We just simply need to go and sign this fella at all costs!”
This fan highlighted Mbeumo’s ability to play as a centre-forward as well as a winger, saying: “Yes I’d love him to come to us! Solve more than just one position.”
“He would be my first choice if he wants to leave Brentford. Mbeumo Isak Gordon would be one of the best front 3’s in world football.” said this excited Newcastle fan.
Another fan added: “Way better to get Mbuemo than Dibbling for that price.”
Finally, this Newcastle fan said: “The only argument is he’s not great vs a low block, but is any winger really great vs a low block.”
Bryan Mbeumo may go against Paul Mitchell’s Newcastle plan
While Newcastle will be in the market for a winger in the summer, there is a chance it may not be Mbeumo they sign. Mitchell wants to sign youth at Newcastle rather than established names – Mbeumo falls into the latter.
At 25, there is still room for growth, but Mitchell may look elsewhere for the winger Newcastle need so desperately.
Newcastle want Southampton’s Tyler Dibling who has impressed while the Saints have struggled in the Premier League this season. Reports suggest he could cost even more than Mbeumo given his age.
Elsewhere, Newcastle are interested in Johan Bakayoko who has impressed in the Eredivisie and the Champions League for PSV Eindhoven. The 21-year-old came up against Lloyd Kelly in the Champions League last week.
Mitchell is ready to get the chequebook out in the summer, but it may be to sign a younger, cheaper star than Mbeumo.
