Newcastle United are not giving Arsenal what they want with regards to Alexander Isak.
While Paul Merson thinks Isak would win Arsenal the title, the 25-year-old is going absolutely nowhere.
There seems to be a desperation to get the striker to the Emirates, yet Newcastle know that no one can afford Isak. The Magpies value him at well over £100million, which is only fair given how well he is playing.
Instead of signing for Arsenal, Alexander Isak scores against them. He has done exactly that two games in a row, and will hope to do it again next Wednesday night as Newcastle aim to book their place in the Carabao Cup final.
Newcastle United aim to sign Antonio Cordero

All the while, Newcastle United could soon hand the Gunners another blow.
It has been reported that Newcastle United are in ‘talks’ to sign Antonio Cordero from Malaga.
The 18-year-old is in the final year of his contract with Malaga, as the Magpies aim to strike a summer deal for the Spanish attacker.

Arsenal have had Antonio Cordero on their radar as Newcastle strike
But what does any of this have to do with Arsenal?
Well, it was reported by Caught Offside in November that Arsenal are interested in Cordero.
The Gunners have had the teenager on their radar, but could potentially miss out to Newcastle United.
Caught Offside also stated that Cordero was attracting interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
That sums up what a coup it would be for the Magpies to land Cordero at the end of the season. Paul Mitchell is trying to make a deal happen, as Newcastle begin negotiations with a very exciting talent.
It is the type of deal that Mitchell needs to do, as he begins to prioritise players who are yet to hit their peak and can be moulded into superstars.
He has already done that, with Newcastle set to sign Vakhtang Salia later this year. He also attracted interest from Europe’s biggest clubs, but it was Newcastle who were able to strike an agreement.
Now they will look to do the same with Cordero, despite him catching the eye of Arsenal’s recruitment team.
