Alexander Isak scored his fourth goal in four games to kickstart Newcastle’s second-half comeback. Joelinton and Harvey Barnes also etched their name on the scoresheet to pick up a vital three points.

Newcastle are now only one point off fourth in the Premier League table and have an in-form striker in the shape of Isak.

Alexander Isak has bounced back from poor start

After scoring 25 goals last season, Newcastle fans were disappointed with Isak‘s poor start to the season.

However, after a small stint on the sidelines to treat a broken toe, Isak has returned from his injury and rediscovered his goalscoring form.

Alan Shearer believes Isak is now finding his best form and it is unfortunate that the November break threatens to stop the positive momentum.

Isak is set to join up with the Sweden national team for their Nations League fixtures, and Howe will hope that he can maintain his sharpness for when the Premier League resumes.

Alexander Isak compared to Thierry Henry and Premier League legends

Isak was superb against Forest on Sunday afternoon and pundit Theo Walcott has showered him with extremely high praise.

Walcott compared Isak to Premier League legends such as Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba and Michael Owen.

Via BBC Sport, he said: “The ability to rotate positions and occupy every role in a frontline is part of what makes him a constant threat. As a player he is something pretty unique in the Premier League right now, and for me he is the closest thing we have seen to another Thierry Henry.

“Henry started out wide, so he knew that role very well, and Isak’s pace and strength means he is excellent in those areas too. But where Henry was not particularly great was with his back to goal, or heading the ball, and Isak can head it – the perfect example of that was his winning goal against Arsenal last week.

“I would say he is this generation’s Henry, but with extra attributes in the air. That’s who I would compare him to from my era, anyway.

“His game makes him a mix of Didier Drogba, Michael Owen and Henry – oh and with a dash of Theo Walcott’s pace out wide. That’s not a bad mix at all, is it?”
