Newcastle United came from behind to pick up a massive three points against Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from Alexander Isak, Joelinton and Harvey Barnes completed a second-half comeback for Newcastle as they beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 at the City Ground.
Forest have been the dark horses of the Premier League so far and went into Sunday’s match third in the Premier League table.
The hosts opened the scoring through Murillo’s header in the first half, but Newcastle bounced back to make it three wins in a row.
Here are the player ratings from Newcastle’s 2-1 victory…

Nick Pope – 6
Made a crucial stop against Ryan Yates early on. Blameless for Murillo’s goal. Pope’s distribution is often a problem but he coped with Forest’s press well.
Tino Livramento – 6
Battled through an early blow to the face to continue his superb form at right-back. Up against Callum Hudson-Odoi, Livramento did brilliantly to keep him quiet.
Deserves an England call-up…
Fabian Schar – 6
Solid at the back. Hardly made a mistake and was trustworthy as always in possession. Newcastle’s Mr. Reliable.
Dan Burn – 4
A bit clumsy. Picked up an early yellow card which put him on the back foot. Missed a big chance to score in the first half and was often second-best up against Chris Wood. Improved in the second half.
Lewis Hall – 6
Was given a tough afternoon by former Newcastle target Anthony Elanga but stood up to the challenge. Full of confidence after his first England call-up. Made some crucial interceptions and bombed forward when given the opportunity.
Sean Longstaff – 6
Did what it says on the tin. Kept things simple, reliable on the ball and linked up well with Anthony Gordon on the right. If he could add more creative spark to his game then he would elevate to a new level.
Bruno Guimaraes – 7
Had the incredibly difficult task of keeping Morgan Gibbs-White quiet. Was combative and led by example but struggled to gain control of midfield in the first half. Came close to scoring a beauty with the outside of his foot.
Joe Willock – 9
Willock was electric from the first minute. There should be no more questions about his place as a starter.
Caused Forest so many problems down the left with his relentless running from midfield. Deserved an assist after a brilliant cross to Isak. Unlucky to be withdrawn in the second half.
Anthony Gordon – 5
Started on the right but really struggled to make an impact in the first half. Moved over to his preferred position on the left in the second half and was much better.
Eddie Howe has a difficult decision to make about where to play Gordon after the November break.
Joelinton – 9
Started on the left wing after shining in recent matches but moved over to the right to accommodate for Gordon in the second half.
Joelinton is brilliant at bringing people around him into the match, and he did it just as well on the right as he did on the left. Capped off an impressive performance by scoring the winner with a superb curling effort.
Alexander Isak – 8
Has now scored four goals in four games. His slow start to the season is well and truly behind him. Isak was forced to feed off scraps early on but he never stopped running and finally got his deserved goal in the second half.
However, marked down for missing a huge opportunity in the second half.
Substitutes
Sandro Tonali – 6
Came on and gave Newcastle extra composure and calm in midfield.
Harvey Barnes – 7
Another goal from the bench. Barnes is so unlucky to miss out on a starting spot but he made a statement after coming on and scoring Newcastle’s third. Almost added a second goal in the dying seconds.
William Osula – N/A
Came on in the final seconds of the match.
