Lloyd Kelly has travelled to Italy for a medical ahead of a move away from Newcastle United.
Having only been at the club a few months, Lloyd Kelly is now set to leave Newcastle United in favour of a move to the Serie A.
The 26-year-old has failed to make an impact in Eddie Howe’s side, despite the pair working well together during Howe’s time at Bournemouth.
Newcastle are set to pocket around £20m from the deal in the summer. Kelly is joining on an initial loan spell with an obligation to buy.
Kelly was open to the Juventus move after playing just four minutes of Premier League football since November. Howe did not want Kelly to leave and admitted he was an ‘integral’ part of Newcastle’s first-team squad despite a lack of appearances.
As Kelly gets ready for his big move abroad, fans learn just how big the deal is for the club’s PSR troubles.

Lloyd Kelly’s Newcastle United wages revealed
The £20m that Newcastle are set to receive is already a big help for the summer. Newcastle will also have a large chunk of the wage bill freed up once Kelly leaves.
According to the Daily Mail, Kelly earns a whopping £100,000-a-week wage at Newcastle which comes to £5.2m-a-year.
Kelly signed a five-year deal at Newcastle – on that wage, he would have earned a staggering £26m if he stayed the whole duration of his contract.
Newcastle are in a position where they are also looking to tie players down to longer deals and bring new players to the club.
Alexander Isak is set for new contract talks at the end of the season, and it is expected that he will become the club’s highest earner so any extra funds they can get for that deal is a major bonus.
Newcastle sold Miguel Almiron to Atlanta United which also freed up a significant chunk of the wage bill. The club are set to be much better positioned to offer better contracts to quality players in the coming months.
Newcastle United likely to spend in the summer
With the £30m that Newcastle are set to bank from the Kelly and Almiron deals, it puts sporting director Paul Mitchell in a fantastic position to make improvements to the squad for Howe in the summer.
Work is already underway for moves in the summer. Newcastle are in pre-contract talks with Antonio Cordero who plays for La Liga 2 side Malaga. The 18-year-old has 10 goal involvements in 23 games so far this season, despite the Spanish side being sat in mid-table.
Newcastle have done a lot of work from a youth perspective too. Baran Yildiz will leave Genclerbirligi to sign for the Newcastle soon. The 18-year-old midfielder is yet to make his professional debut but Mitchell is believed to be a big fan of his.
Elsewhere, Newcastle have already confirmed the signing of 17-year-old Vahktang Salia from Dinamo Tbilisi. He will join the club in August when he turns 18.
